Rays' Yandy Diaz: Three hits, homer in win
Diaz went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's win over the Yankees.
Diaz jumped on Nestor Cortes' first pitch of the bottom of the first inning, sending it over the left-field wall for his second long ball of the season. He didn't stop there, doubling twice (with one of them plating another run) and finishing with three runs scored. Diaz already has five multi-hit games this month, elevating his average from .220 to .250.

Red Sox's Garrett Cooper: Not starting Saturday
Cooper is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against Washington, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

Ezequiel Duran SS | TEX
Rangers' Ezequiel Duran: Makes third straight start
Duran started in left field and went 2-for-3 with a run scored in Friday's 4-2 loss to Colorado.
Duran made a third consecutive start and has hit in all three, going 6-for-10 with one RBI and three runs scored. He's started in left field and third base during the three-start run, and there will be plenty of opportunities at each position with Wyatt Langford (hamstring) and Josh Jung (wrist) on the injured list. Neither is due back until the end of the month at the earliest.

Ty France 1B | TOR
Mariners' Ty France: Plates pair in win
France went 2-for-4 with a two-run double and a run in a win over the Athletics on Friday.
Dylan Moore stole the show for the Mariners with a five-RBI night, but France got in on the fun early with a timely two-bagger in the fourth that extended Seattle's lead to 3-0 at the time. The veteran's multi-hit effort was already France's third of May, and he's opened the month with a solid .267 average and .333 on-base percentage across eight contests. However, France's strikeout rate in that span is also a bloated 33.3 percent, pushing his season figure to a career high of 24.8 percent over 137 plate appearances.

Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY
Yankees' Anthony Rizzo: Drives home only runs in victory
Rizzo went 2-for-4 with a home run and two total RBI in Friday's 2-0 win over Tampa Bay.
Rizzo accounted for both runs in the contest, knocking an RBI single in the fourth inning and providing some insurance with a solo homer in the ninth. The veteran first baseman has reached base safely in all but one of his eight games so far in May, slashing .296/.406/.519 with two homers and seven RBI over that stretch. With seven long balls and 22 RBI through 39 games on the campaign, Rizzo is already more than halfway to the totals he posted over 99 contests last season.

Carlos Santana 1B | ARI
Twins' Carlos Santana: Slugs fifth homer
Santana went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 3-2 win over the Blue Jays.
The veteran first baseman got his bat on a pitch out of the strike zone in the fifth inning against Yusei Kikuchi and poked it just fair down the right-field line, putting the Twins in the lead for good. Santana has been productive over the last few weeks -- all five of his homers on the season have come in his last 15 games, a stretch in which he's slashing .264/.328/.585 with eight runs and 12 RBI.

Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL
White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Pops first homer
Vaughn went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Friday against the Guardians.
Vaughn finally popped his first home run of the season when he took Pedro Avila deep in the eighth inning. He entered the game with only eight extra-base hits across 146 plate appearances, all of which were doubles. Overall, Vaughn is slashing just .196/.253/.275 across 150 plate appearances.

Tyler Nevin 3B | ATH
Athletics' Tyler Nevin: Sitting Friday
Nevin is not in the starting lineup for Friday's matchup with the Mariners, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
Nevin will take a seat for a second game in a row Friday as he's currently going through a 0-for-20 dry spell at the plate. Lawrence Butler will draw the start in right field and bat eighth against Seattle.

Josh Naylor 1B | SEA
Guardians' Josh Naylor: Clubs 10th homer
Naylor went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the White Sox.
Naylor has homered three times over his last eight games and now has 10 long balls on the year. The first baseman is batting .259 (7-for-27) with a 5:4 BB:K through eight contests in May. His career high in homers is 20 from the 2022 campaign, but he's on pace to shatter that mark in 2024. He's slashing .277/.364/.562 with 29 RBI, 20 runs scored and two stolen bases over 36 games this season.

Vinnie Pasquantino 1B | KC
Royals' Vinnie Pasquantino: Homer, three RBI in win
Pasquantino went 2-for-4 with a double, a homer, three RBI and two runs scored in Thursday's win over the Angels.
Pasquantino jumped on a hanging four-seamer with two outs in the top of the third inning and crushed it into the stands for his fifth home run of the season, and his first this month. The first baseman would also add a sacrifice fly in the contest, marking the third time in his last five games in which he's tallied multiple RBI. Pasquantino is on an absolute tear right now, registering three multi-hit games in a row with at least one extra-base hit in each of those performances. He's batting .429 (12-for-28) in May with 11 RBI, six runs scored and six extra-base hits.
