  • Ryan Noda 1B | BAL

Athletics' Ryan Noda: Not starting versus southpaw

Noda is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.

Noda went 0-for-5 with four strikeouts Saturday and will take a seat Sunday with lefty Nick Lodolo on the mound for Cincinnati. Jesus Aguilar will start at first base while Carlos Perez bats fifth as the designated hitter.

  • Ty France 1B | SD

Mariners' Ty France: Sitting again Sunday

France is feeling under the weather Sunday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports, and the first baseman isn't in the lineup for the series finale against the Blue Jays.

France stepped out of the lineup Saturday while in the midst of a 1-for-25 slump, though he came off the bench and earned a walk as a pinch hitter. The Mariners have a scheduled day off Monday, and the 28-year-old should be back in action for Tuesday's series opener versus the A's. Sam Haggerty is manning first base and batting eighth Sunday.

  • Josh Bell DH | MIN

Guardians' Josh Bell: Slugs third homer

Bell went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Saturday's 8-7 extra-inning loss to the Red Sox.

Bell's blast got the Guardians on the board in the second inning. He's logged four extra-base hits over his last six games, but he's had some trouble establishing over-the-fence power this season. The first baseman is slashing .214/.316/.398 with three homers, nine doubles, 13 RBI and seven runs scored through 26 contests.

  • Yandy Diaz 1B | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Still out Sunday

Diaz (shoulder) is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Diaz will be out of the lineup for the second consecutive game after he exited Friday's contest with soreness in his left shoulder. The 31-year-old should be available off the bench and will now have Monday's team off day to aid in his recovery before potentially missing more time. Luke Raley will start at first base in Sunday's series finale.

  • Josh Naylor 1B | SEA

Guardians' Josh Naylor: Takes seat Sunday

Naylor is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.

Naylor went 3-for-5 with a double while driving in three runs in the extra-inning loss to Boston on Saturday, and his reward is a day of rest against the Red Sox on Sunday. Josh Bell is playing first base and hitting cleanup in Naylor's absence with Jose Ramirez getting the start at designated hitter and Gabriel Arias at third base.

  • Triston Casas 1B | BOS

Red Sox's Triston Casas: Expected to sit Sunday

Casas is unlikely to play Sunday against the Guardians, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

Casas was given Saturday off, and manager Alex Cora thinks another day off makes sense for the struggling first baseman. The 23-year-old rookie is batting only .133 (10-for-75) with a .283 on-base percentage and .293 slugging percentage.

  • Josh Naylor 1B | SEA

Guardians' Josh Naylor: Hits bases-clearing double

Naylor went 3-for-5 with one double, three RBI and one steal in Saturday's 8-7 loss against the Red Sox.

Naylor came through for Cleveland in the seventh frame, cutting the deficit to one and driving in Jose Ramirez, Myles Straw and Steven Kwan with a right-field double. The first baseman also swiped his second bag of the campaign, a feat that has become more common for the 26-year-old after recording six steals last season despite having three combined stolen bases prior to 2022. Naylor has been carrying a hot stick lately, going 9-for-25 (.360) in his last seven games after holding a .190 average leading up to Saturday's contest.

  • Yandy Diaz 1B | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Out of lineup Saturday

Diaz is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the White Sox.

Diaz left Friday's game against the White Sox with shoulder soreness, and while he was scheduled for a day off anyway according to Kevin Cash, it's worth noting that the 31-year-old will begin this contest on the bench. Isaac Paredes will get the start at first base and hit fifth while Taylor Walls handles third base duties and will bat sixth.

  • Jose Abreu 1B | HOU

Astros' Jose Abreu: Down to sixth in lineup

Abreu has been moved down to sixth in the lineup, at least against righties, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Abreu began the season hitting cleanup and was moved down to fifth in the lineup for the last four games against righties, and now he slips to his lowest spot since joining the Astros. The veteran first baseman is hitting .243 with a .277 OBP and has yet to hit a home run this year. He has hit just one long ball in his last 81 games.

  • Ty France 1B | SD

Mariners' Ty France: Gets breather amid slump

France is not in the starting lineup Saturday at Toronto, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

France has fallen into a 1-for-25 slump and will grab a day of mental and physical rest. Sam Haggerty is covering first base and batting ninth versus the Blue Jays and right-hander Kevin Gausman.
