Santana heads into Wednesday's regular-season finale swinging a hot bat of late, hitting .412 (7-for-17) over his last five games.

Even after connecting on his fifth home run of the season, the 26-year-old rookie is still sitting on a lowly .147/.198/.310 slash line over his first 126 big-league plate appearances.

    Mountcastle is not in the starting lineup for Game 1 of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Blue Jays, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

    After he was set to sit out Tuesday's matchup before it was rained out, Mountcastle will remain on the bench for Wednesday's matinee. Jesus Aguilar will take over at first base and bat fifth versus Toronto.

    Torkelson went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run during a 9-6 loss in Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader.

    Torkelson delivered his sixth three-hit game of the season with singles in the third and fifth innings and a solo home run in the sixth. The trio of hits snapped a 23 at-bat hitless stretch over the 23-year-old's previous seven contests as the top prospect has endured a rough ending to what has been a disappointing rookie season. Torkelson is slashing .204/.285/.607 with eight home runs, 37 runs and 28 RBI in 109 games.

    White Sox's Jose Abreu: Set to sit Wednesday

    Interim manager Miguel Cairo said Abreu won't start Wednesday's season finale against the Twins, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

    Abreu went 1-for-3 with a double and a run during Tuesday's 8-3 win, and it will apparently be his final start of 2022. Through 156 games this year he has a .304/.378/.446 slash line with 40 doubles, 15 home runs, 75 RBI and 85 runs in 157 games. The veteran first baseman is finishing up his ninth season with the White Sox but is slated to hit free agency during the offseason.

    Clemens is starting at third base and batting sixth in Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Mariners.

    After appearing as a pinch runner in the first game, Clemens will start at third base in the nightcap, with Jeimer Candelario shifting to DH. Clemens hasn't done much this season with just a .483 OPS across 55 games.

    France went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run during Game 1 and will head to the bench for the nightcap. Carlos Santana will shift to first base while Cal Raleigh serves as the designated hitter.
