Kole Calhoun 1B | CLE
Rangers' Kole Calhoun: Activated, starting Sunday
The Rangers activated Calhoun (heel) from the 10-day injured list Sunday. He'll start in left field and bat seventh in the Rangers' series finale in Minnesota.
Following a two-and-a-half-week stint on the IL, Calhoun was cleared to rejoin the Rangers after completing a three-game rehab assignment at Triple-A Round Rock. Utility man Josh Smith was sent to Round Rock to clear room on the active roster for Calhoun, who is likely to step back into a large-side platoon role in the Rangers' corner outfield.

Yandy Diaz 1B | TB
Rays' Yandy Diaz: Resting Sunday
Diaz is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Diaz isn't known to be nursing an injury, but he'll find himself on the bench for the second time in three days nonetheless. Isaac Paredes will fill in at the hot corner in place of Diaz, who is slashing .218/.328/.418 with two home runs, five doubles, 12 RBI, eight runs and an 9:8 BB:K over 15 games in August.

Bobby Dalbec 1B | CHW
Red Sox's Bobby Dalbec: Enters for Hosmer
Dalbec entered Saturday's game after Eric Hosmer was removed due to back pain. He went 0-for-2 in a 4-3 win over Baltimore.
Dalbec's already marginal playing time has taken a hit since Hosmer's arrival in Boston. The latter has had 45 plate appearances compared to Dalbec's 19. It's uncertain how long Hosmer will be impacted by the injury, but Dalbec will benefit from an uptick in playing time in the short term.

Nate Lowe 1B | CIN
Rangers' Nathaniel Lowe: Four-hit effort in win
Lowe went 4-for-5 in Saturday's 4-3 extra-inning win over the Twins.
Lowe kept the line moving well Saturday with four singles, though he wasn't able to produce a run or an RBI in the contest. The first baseman has gone 20-for-50 (.400) across his last 13 games, and he's been held hitless only twice in that span. For the season, he's slashing .294/.345/.467 with 17 home runs, 53 RBI, 53 runs scored and two stolen bases through 469 plate appearances.

Yandy Diaz 1B | TB
Rays' Yandy Diaz: Continues hot stretch
Diaz went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI in Saturday's win over the Royals.
Diaz's double off lefty starter Kris Bubic drove in a run with one out in the fourth to increase the Rays' lead to four. The third baseman's bat has woken up recently as he boasts a .346 average and .654 slugging percentage in 26 at-bats over his last seven games. In addition, the 31-year-old hits better against lefties with a .900 OPS in 96 at-bats compared to a .754 OPS in 278 at-bats against right-handed pitching.

Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL
White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Sitting Saturday
Vaughn is not in Saturday's lineup against the Guardians, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.
With Eloy Jimenez (knee) in the lineup at designated hitter and Gavin Sheets in against a tough opposing righty (Shane Bieber), Vaughn will bow out. He is slashing .314/.360/.514 with three home runs in 18 games this month.

Ty France 1B | SD
Mariners' Ty France: Busts out of slump Friday
France went 2-for-4 with a sacrifice fly and an RBI single in a win over the Athletics on Friday.
France's average had plummeted from .312 to .287 entering Friday night's game thanks to a 16-game skid during which he'd hit just .156 (10-for-64), but his first multi-hit effort since July 25 helped him to a productive night. The 27-year-old's BABIP was just .176 during that slump, however, so he could certainly be due for a turnaround in the near future.

Yandy Diaz 1B | TB
Rays' Yandy Diaz: Leading off at DH
Diaz (knee) is starting at designated hitter and leading off Saturday against the Royals.
He exited Thursday's game with left knee soreness and was held out Friday, but Diaz is back in the fold for the third game of this series against Kansas City. He is slashing .192/.300/.385 with two home runs in 14 games this month.

Jose Abreu 1B | HOU
White Sox's Jose Abreu: Another multi-hit game
Abreu went 2-for-4 with an RBI on Friday against the Guardians.
Abreu drove in his lone run of the game with an infield single in the opening frame. He also tallied his seventh multi-hit effort performance across his last 10 starts, and he has maintained a .432 average with two RBI and six runs scored in that span. For the season, Abreu has a .308/.382/.463 line across 510 plate appearances.

Josh Naylor 1B | SEA
Guardians' Josh Naylor: Produces steal in win
Naylor went 1-for-2 with a stolen base, a walk and a hit by pitch in Friday's 5-2 win over the White Sox.
Naylor worked the front end of a double steal with Andres Gimenez in the seventh inning as the Guardians tried to extend a rally. The theft is a good sign Naylor is healthy after he missed time earlier this week with an ankle injury. The 25-year-old is up to four steals this season while adding a solid .275/.331/.480 slash line, 15 home runs, 57 RBI and 33 runs scored through 338 plate appearances.
