Ty France 1B | SD
Mariners' Ty France: Gets Wednesday off
France is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.
France will sit for the day game after he had started in each of the Mariners' last 12 contests following a four-game absence due to a wrist injury. Carlos Santana will step in at first base for France, who went 1-for-4 with a walk and a pair of RBI in Tuesday's 8-2 win.

Nick Pratto 1B | TEX
Royals' Nick Pratto: On bench Wednesday
Pratto isn't starting Wednesday against the Twins.
Pratto started the last two games and went 0-for-5 with two strikeouts. He'll get a breather while Vinnie Pasquantino shifts to first base with Brent Rooker starting in right field.

Jose Abreu 1B | HOU
White Sox's Jose Abreu: Racks up three hits in win
Abreu went 3-for-4 with a run scored in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Astros.
Abreu has multiple hits in six of his last 10 games, batting .410 (16-for-39) in that span. The first baseman has just one extra-base hit, a double, in that stretch, and he's posted a 2:10 BB:K. Despite the lack of power, he's finding ways to remain productive. The 35-year-old is up to a .307/.382/.466 slash line with 14 home runs, 56 RBI, 64 runs scored and 28 doubles through 498 plate appearances.

Nate Lowe 1B | CIN
Rangers' Nathaniel Lowe: Hitting streak at seven games
Lowe went 3-for-4 in Tuesday's 5-1 loss to the Athletics.
The Rangers got seven hits from the Nos. 4-6 hitters, but it didn't lead to sustained rallies. Lowe has hit safely in seven straight games and has multiple hits in seven of 15 games in August. For the month, he's batting .400 (22-for-55) with five extra-base hits, lifting his season slash line to .291/.341/.463 through 111 contests. He's added 16 home runs, 49 RBI, 51 runs scored and two stolen bases.

Carlos Santana 1B | ARI
Mariners' Carlos Santana: Sitting again Tuesday
Santana is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Angels.
Lefty Jose Suarez is pitching Tuesday for the Halos, and Santana finds himself on the bench for the third time in the past four games. The switch-hitting first baseman has a .668 OPS through 12 games in August. The Mariners appear content to open up a full-time role for Sam Haggerty in the outfield while deploying Mitch Haniger as their primary designated hitter rather than the slumping Santana.

Josh Naylor 1B | SEA
Guardians' Josh Naylor: Not starting Tuesday
Naylor (ankle) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Tigers.
The lefty-hitting Naylor finds himself on the bench against a right-hander (Garrett Hill) after hurting his right ankle in the second game of Monday's doubleheader. Owen Miller will spell Naylor at first base.

Luke Raley RF | SEA
Rays' Luke Raley: Heads to minors
The Rays optioned Raley to Triple-A Durham on Tuesday.
Raley will cede his spot on the 26-man active roster to fellow outfielder Harold Ramirez (thumb), who was reinstated from the 10-day injured list. Though he received a look in a near-everyday role coming out of the All-Star break, Raley ultimately saw his playing time trend down before being sent back to the minors. During his latest stint with Tampa Bay, Raley slashed .204/.313/.296 while striking out at a 32.8 percent clip over 20 games.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. 1B | TOR
Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Swats 24th homer
Guerrero went 1-for-4 with a walk and a solo home run in Monday's 7-3 loss to the Orioles.
The 23-year-old still hasn't quite recaptured his 2021 form, but Guerrero keeps teasing a breakout. He's hit safely in 11 of 12 games so far in August, slashing .288/.327/.538 with four doubles and three of his 24 homers on the year.
-
Ryan Mountcastle 1B | BAL
Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Continues to torment Toronto
Mountcastle went 1-for-3 with two walks, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Monday's 7-3 win over the Blue Jays.
The 25-year-old continued his career dominance of Toronto as he took Yusei Kikuchi deep in the third inning. Since making his big-league debut in 2020, Mountcastle has an absurd .360/.420/.744 slash line over 32 games against the Jays with 14 homers and 28 RBI, and this season he's been even more dangerous against them, going 13-for-28 (.464) over seven games with four doubles and five of his 16 home runs on the year.

Yandy Diaz 1B | TB
Rays' Yandy Diaz: Drives in pair
Diaz went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI on Monday against the Yankees.
Diaz delivered a two-RBI single in the ninth inning to put the Rays up 4-0. He's struggled in post All-Star break action, as Monday's effort marked only his third multi-hit effort in 19 starts -- leading to a .189 average. However, Diaz has still managed to deliver timely hits in that span, as he also has 10 runs scored and 12 RBI. Overall, Diaz has a .272/.385/.385 line across 423 plate appearances on the campaign.
