  • Nate Lowe 1B | TEX

Rangers' Nathaniel Lowe: Fuels comeback win

Lowe went 3-for-4 with a walk, a double, a home run, three RBI and two additional runs scored in Saturday's 9-8 win over the Angels.

His solo homer in the second inning put the Rangers on top early, and Lowe helped fuel a comeback later in the game after Texas fell behind 8-3, delivering runs in the eighth and ninth innings. Lowe is finishing the season on a high note, going 24-for-76 (.316) with 13 walks, four home runs, 17 RBI and nine runs over the last 22 games.

  • Justin Turner 1B | SEA

Mariners' Justin Turner: Sitting again Saturday

Turner is absent from Saturday's lineup against Oakland.

Turner will sit for a second straight game Saturday. Jorge Polanco will serve as the designated hitter and bat fifth against right-hander Joey Estes.

  • Nolan Schanuel 1B | LAA

Angels' Nolan Schanuel: Still out of lineup

Schanuel (leg) is absent from Saturday's lineup against Texas, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Schanuel will now be out for a third straight game due to a bruised right lower leg he sustained Wednesday against the White Sox. Niko Kavadas will start at first base and bat eighth.

  • Triston Casas 1B | BOS

Red Sox's Triston Casas: Launches 13th homer

Casas went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 7-2 loss against the Rays.

Casas took Shane Baz deep for the second time this season with his first-inning blast that went to the opposite field. It was Casas' fifth home run this month, and all have come over his last 11 games, with him adding 11 RBI over that span as well. The 24-year-old is hitting .240/.339/.466 with 13 home runs, 31 RBI and 28 runs scored over 62 games this season.

  • Yuli Gurriel 1B | KC

    Royals' Yuli Gurriel: Idle Saturday

Gurriel isn't in Kansas City's lineup for Saturday's game against Atlanta.

Gurriel will give way to Garrett Hampson at first base Saturday after going 0-for-2 with a walk and a strikeout during Friday's series opener.

  • Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY

Yankees' Anthony Rizzo: Suffers fractured finger

Rizzo was diagnosed with a fractured finger after leaving Saturday's game against the Pirates, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Rizzo suffered the injury after getting hit in the hand by a pitch during the seventh inning. Manager Aaron Boone said after the game that Rizzo's injury doesn't necessarily rule him out for the start of New York's playoff run, and the first baseman's availability will depend on pain tolerance. That being said, it's likely he sits out Sunday's regular-season finale.

  • Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY

Yankees' Anthony Rizzo: Leaves game after HBP

Rizzo was removed from Saturday's game against the Pirates after getting hit in the hand by a pitch, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.

Rizzo took an 88-mph slider off his right hand during the seventh inning. He initially remained in the game to run the bases but was replaced on defense once New York took the field to begin the eighth. The severity of his injury remains unknown, but if he ends up having to miss Sunday's season finale, Oswaldo Cabrera would likely be the next man up to start at first base for the Yankees.

  • Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Knocks 30th double

Mountcastle went 3-for-5 with a double and a run scored in Friday's 7-2 win over the Twins.

Mountcastle has gone 6-for-13 (.462) over four games since he returned from a month-long absence due to a sprained left wrist. He has reclaimed his starting role at first base and should maintain that spot heading into the postseason. Mountcastle has been steady at the plate despite a down power year, producing a .271/.309/.428 slash line, 13 home runs, 30 doubles, two triples, 62 RBI, 54 runs scored and three stolen bases over 122 contests.

  • Ryan O'Hearn 1B | BAL

Orioles' Ryan O'Hearn: Ends power drought Friday

O'Hearn went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Friday's 7-2 win over the Twins.

He took Pablo Lopez deep in the second inning, giving the Orioles a lead they wouldn't relinquish as they went on to clinch a wild-card spot with the victory. O'Hearn snapped a 25-game homerless drought with the blast, and he's slashing a tepid .214/.267/.329 through 22 contests in September. Despite the slump, his 14 home runs on the season tie his career high, and O'Hearn has two games left on the regular-season schedule to try and set a new high-water mark.

  • Yuli Gurriel 1B | KC

Royals' Yuli Gurriel: Posts steal in loss

Gurriel went 0-for-2 with a walk and a stolen base in Friday's 3-0 loss to Atlanta.

Playing against the team that traded him in a minor-league deal at the end of August, the 40-year-old Gurriel was able to log his first steal of the year. The infielder has ably plugged a hole in the lineup for the Royals, batting .260 over 17 games. He's added six RBI, seven runs scored and three doubles while seeing most of his playing time between first base and designated hitter. Gurriel is unlikely to be an everyday option with Salvador Perez often filling in at first base, and Gurriel could find himself on the bench in the postseason if Vinnie Pasquantino (thumb) becomes an option should the Royals make a deep run.
