    Lowe went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, a walk and two total runs scored in Friday's 8-5 win over Baltimore.

    The first baseman opened the scoring with a first-inning blast, his 16th homer of the year and his second through 21 September games. Lowe has maintained a decent .262/.356/.408 slash line through 609 plate appearances this year. He's added 70 RBI, 68 runs scored, seven stolen bases and 23 doubles in a near-everyday role in his first season with the Rangers.

    Rays' Yandy Diaz: Knack for clutch hitting of late

    Diaz, who was out of the lineup Friday against the Marlins, is hitting .333 with two doubles, two home runs and 14 RBI across 36 plate appearances with runners on base in the last 13 games.

    The sizzling-hot stretch for Diaz was key in helping the Rays push for their third straight postseason berth, which they clinched with a win over the Blue Jays on Wednesday. The 30-year-old went 2-for-3 with two RBI from a sacrifice fly and a run-scoring single in that contest. Diaz has pushed his career-high RBI tally to 60 with his September surge, a stretch during which he's driven in multiple runs on five occasions.

    Red Sox's Bobby Dalbec: Sitting again Friday

    Dalbec is out of the lineup Friday against the Yankees, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

    Dalbec finds himself on the bench for the second straight contest despite having a 1.087 OPS through 16 games in September. Kyle Schwarber will move to first base while Jose Iglesias enters the lineup at the keystone.

  • Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Slugs 31st long ball

    Mountcastle went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a strikeout in a 3-0 shutout of the Rangers on Thursday.

    Mountcastle singled in the third inning and doubled Baltimore's lead with a solo shot to right in the fifth for his third multi-hit game in his last six. While a .221 September average isn't spectacular, six of Mountcastle's 16 hits have left the yard while his 31 total homers rank 22nd in MLB.

    Athletics' Matt Olson: Tallies 38th homer

    Olson went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, two walks and two runs scored Thursday against the Mariners.

    Olson walked and scored in the third inning to begin his productive performance. However, the highlight came in the ninth inning when he took Paul Sewald yard to tally his 38th home run of the season. The effort continued his power binge, as he's now slugged six homers across his last 12 starts. In that same span, he's also tallied 10 RBI and 10 runs scored. For the season, Olson is now hitting .273/.371/.549 across 633 plate appearances.

    White Sox's Jose Abreu: Retreats to bench for Game 2

    Abreu isn't starting the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against Cleveland, Vinnie Duber of NBC Sports Chicago reports.

    Abreu went 0-for-2 with two walks in the first game of Thursday's twin bill, and he'll take a seat for Game 2. Gavin Sheets will start at first base while Brian Goodwin enters the lineup in right field.

    White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Activated, starting Game 2

    Vaughn was activated from the 10-day injured list Thursday and is starting at third base and batting sixth in Game 2 of the doubleheader versus Cleveland.

    The 23-year-old last played Sept. 9 before suffering a back injury. Prior to being placed on the IL, Vaughn went 17 games without registering a multi-hit effort. Over that stretch he batted .115 with only one home run in 61 at-bats.

    Mariners' Ty France: Pops long ball in win

    France went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in a 4-1 win over the Athletics on Wednesday.

    France's third-inning long ball was his first since Aug. 23 and gave Seattle a 3-0 lead. He then scored the team's final run after reaching on a hit-by-pitch in the seventh. The 27-year-old has emerged as a solid fantasy asset this season, slashing .293/.366/.446 with 17 homers, 65 RBI and 77 runs across 142 games.

    Yankees' Anthony Rizzo: Not in Wednesday's lineup

    Rizzo isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

    Rizzo started each of the last three games and went 4-for-9 with three runs, an RBI and a walk. Luke Voit will start at first base and bat second.
