  • Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Takes seat Sunday

Mountcastle is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Mountcastle sits following an 0-for-5, three-strikeout performance Saturday that lowered his average to .282 in the last 10 games. Trey Mancini is starting at first base Sunday, with DJ Stewart filling in as the designated hitter.

  • Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL

White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: On bench Sunday

Vaughn is not starting Sunday's game against the Royals, Joel Goldberg of Bally Sports Kansas City reports.

Vaughn has struggled with a .108 average and no extra-base hits in his last 10 games. Jose Abreu is the designated hitter Sunday, with Gavin Sheets getting a start at first base.

  • Triston Casas 1B | BOS

Red Sox's Triston Casas: Powering up

Casas went 2-for-3 with two walks, two home runs and four RBI for Double-A Portland on Saturday.

Casas had been in an extended power drought since the middle of July, hitting just one homer over 20 games (66 at-bats), but the Red Sox's No. 1 prospect busted out this weekend. Including the three home runs he belted during Friday's doubleheader, Casas has five in the last two days.

  • Carlos Santana 1B | ARI

Royals' Carlos Santana: Snaps power drought

Santana went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk Saturday in a loss to the White Sox.

Santana clubbed a 441-foot solo shot in the sixth inning for the Royals' final run. The long ball snapped 35-game streak without a homer for the veteran, during which he batted only .185 with a mere five RBI over 130 at-bats. Santana has recently been dealing with a hip injury, so Saturday's power display could be a sign that he is feeling better.

  • Yandy Diaz 1B | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Homers in win

Diaz went 2-for-4 with a home run, a single, a walk and four RBI in Saturday's 11-4 win over the Twins.

Diaz plated a run with an RBI single in the first inning before smashing a three-run homer off Andrew Albers in the second to bust the game wide open. The production is nice to see from the 30-year-old, as he went 1-for-11 in his first three games in September after he spent his last five games of August hitting .357.

  • Kevin Padlo 1B | LAD

Mariners' Kevin Padlo: Heads back to Triple-A

Padlo was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.

Padlo was called up Wednesday but entered just a single game during his time with the team, striking out in his lone plate appearance. He's now gone 1-for-13 with nine strikeouts to start his big-league career.

  • Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Three hits in comeback win

Guerrero went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI in Friday's 11-10 win over the A's.

The young superstar didn't manage an extra-base hit, but he still led Toronto in knocks in a wild and much-needed come-from-behind victory. Guerrero extended his hitting streak to 11 games in the process, and he remains within striking distance of a Triple Crown if he can stay hot through September, as he's posting a .316/.407/.601 slash line with 39 homers, 97 RBI and 100 runs in 132 games on the season.

  • Luke Voit 1B | NYM

Yankees' Luke Voit: Riding pine Saturday

Voit is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Orioles.

Last season's home-run leader is now a part-time player after the Yankees brought in both Anthony Rizzo and Joey Gallo at the trade deadline. Voit has logged only 21 at-bats since Aug. 22, collecting four hits, including two for extra bases (one homer), while striking out 11 times. He has a .779 OPS in 52 games so far this year.

  • Bobby Dalbec 1B | CHW

Red Sox's Bobby Dalbec: Added to Friday's lineup

Dalbec was added to Friday's lineup against Cleveland as the starting first baseman, batting seventh, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.

Jarren Duran was scratched with an illness, so Kyle Schwarber will move to the outfield, opening up a spot for Dalbec against righty Cal Quantrill. Dalbec is hitting .348/.434/.758 with seven home runs and a 26.3 percent strikeout rate over his last 25 games.

  • Bobby Dalbec 1B | CHW

Red Sox's Bobby Dalbec: Sitting Friday

Dalbec is out of Friday's lineup versus Cleveland, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.

The first baseman will go back to the bench with the team facing right-hander Cal Quantrill. Lefty Kyle Schwarber is batting leadoff and starting at first base.
