Dalbec (hamstring) is batting eighth and playing first base in Saturday's game against the Athletics, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
After missing three consecutive games with hamstring tightness, Dalbec, who's hit .273 against lefties this season, returns to face southpaw Cole Irvin. Though his .218 average in 2021 is nothing special, Dalbec has hit .315 with four homers and 10 RBI in his last 15 games.

Guerrero went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, an additional RBI and a walk in Friday's win over Tampa Bay.
Guerrero ended a rare four-game homer drought with a two-run blast Friday and is now just three away from tying Shohei Ohtani for the MLB lead in that department. The star slugger has gone yard five times over his last 12 games.

O'Hearn isn't starting Saturday's game against Minnesota, Joel Goldberg of Bally Sports Kansas City reports.
O'Hearn recently drew 10 consecutive starts, but he'll take a seat for a second straight matchup. Jorge Soler will serve as the designated hitter while Hanser Alberto enters the lineup at second base.

White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Slugs eighth homer
Vaughn went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and a second run scored in Friday's 8-2 win over Detroit.
The 23-year-old's first hit of the game came in the seventh inning when he doubled and scored on a Danny Mendick sacrifice fly. Vaughn added a solo shot as part of Chicago's five-run ninth inning. He's gone 8-for-13 with two homers, five RBI and six runs scored across his last four games. The sudden surge has lifted his slash line to .246/.317/.436 with eight home runs, 22 RBI, 34 runs scored and a stolen bases through 240 plate appearances. He's seen everyday action in left field since Jake Lamb (quadriceps) was placed on the injured list.

White (hip) isn't close to resuming baseball activities, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
White still isn't feeling great after he received a cortisone injection Tuesday, and he's continuing to rest while he recovers from a hip flexor strain. The M's could have a better idea of the 25-year-old's return timetable once he's cleared to resume baseball activities, but it's not yet clear when that could occur.

Yankees' Chris Gittens: Out with injury
Gittens was placed on the injured list at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Friday with an undisclosed injury, Conor Foley of The Scranton Times-Tribune reports.
Gittens was optioned to Triple-A on June 20 and had been unable to play the past few days for the RailRiders while dealing with the injury. It's unclear when the 27-year-old is expected to return.

Dalbec will miss a third straight game due to hamstring tightness, but manager Alex Cora is optimistic that the first baseman could be back in the lineup Saturday. Danny Santana will start at first base and bat eighth Friday.
