Angels' Kole Calhoun: Homers against Dodgers

Calhoun went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a 5-3 win for the Angels over the Dodgers on Monday.

Calhoun was the only Angel to get to Hyun-Jin Ryu, as he touched up the Dodgers' red-hot lefty with a solo homer in the second inning for his 14th long ball of the season. The veteran was hitting just .194 at the end of April but he's turned it on since then, as this performance leaves him with a .243/.332/.496 slash line through 226 at-bats.

  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Athletics' Matt Olson: RBI parade continues

Olson went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in a win over the Rangers on Sunday.

Olson took Drew Smyly deep in the second inning to drive in his fifth and sixth runs over the last six games. The slugging infielder now has nine homers on the season, a total he's compiled at a pace of just under one every three games. Olson's .227 average and .319 on-base percentage still have plenty of room for improvement, but his .504 slugging percentage and .823 OPS both qualify as the second-best figures of his career.

  • Yandy Diaz 1B | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Posts four-hit game

Diaz went 4-for-5 with a solo home run and two runs in a 6-1 victory against the Red Sox on Sunday.

The 27-year-old had a nice weekend at Fenway Park, but his hot streak really started at Comerica Park on Thursday. Diaz is 9-for-23 (.391) in the last five games. The bad news is that hot streak has produced eight singles with just one homer and two RBI. Diaz is batting .270 with 10 home runs, 24 RBI, 31 runs and one steal in 189 at-bats during 2019.

  • Rangers' Asdrubal Cabrera: Swats 10th homer

Cabrera went 3-for-5 with a home run, a double, three RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's 9-8 loss to the Athletics.

Cabrera did all his damage from the sixth inning on, including nearly sparking a rally against Oakland closer Blake Treinen in the ninth. The 33-year-old infielder owns a solid .805 OPS with 38 RBI and 20 extra-base hits across 223 plate appearances.

Angels' Kole Calhoun: Sitting out Sunday

Calhoun is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

With the Mariners bringing a lefty (Wade LeBlanc) to the hill as their primary pitcher, Calhoun will bow out of the lineup. Cesar Puello replaces him in the outfield and will bat fifth.

  • Ryan O'Hearn 1B | PIT

Royals' Ryan O'Hearn: Benched against right-hander

O'Hearn is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.

O'Hearn had started each of the previous three games, going 0-for-11 during that stretch to sink his season batting average to .185. Though the Royals have regularly deployed him against right-handed pitching, O'Hearn will sit in favor of Cheslor Cuthbert with Reynaldo Lopez on the bump for Chicago.

  • Rowdy Tellez 1B | ATL

Blue Jays' Rowdy Tellez: Takes seat again

Tellez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Since producing three home runs in a two-day stretch May 21 and 22, Tellez has gone ice cold at the plate and may be beginning to lose playing time as a result. He's managed only four hits over his last 38 at-bats and will head to the bench for the third time in five games while Eric Sogard handles designated-hitter duties.

  • Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero Jr.: Takes seat Sunday

Guerrero is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Guerrero will head to the bench for the final game of the homestand after starting each of the previous eight contests and going 10-for-32 with four extra-base hits and five RBI. Brandon Drury will spell Guerrero at third base and bat ninth.

  • Rangers' Asdrubal Cabrera: Out of Saturday night's lineup

Cabrera is not in the lineup for Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Athletics.

Cabrera is hitting the ball well lately -- he's 11-for-26 in June so far -- but will sit out the nightcap as Logan Forsythe starts at third base and bats fifth for Texas.

  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Athletics' Matt Olson: Blasts eighth homer

Olson went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer during Oakland's 10-5 loss to the Rangers in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday.

Olson plated the first two Oakland runs with a homer off Joe Palumbo in the fourth inning, and all eight of his home runs have come in the 29 games since he returned from injury May 7. He now holds a .236/.317/.509 slash line for the year.
