  • Kole Calhoun 1B | CLE

Angels' Kole Calhoun: Back in action Monday

Calhoun (knee) is back in the lineup Monday against Milwaukee.

Calhoun left Saturday's game against the Rangers with a knee bruise after crashing into the outfield wall. He sat out Sunday's contest, but the injury was never expected to keep him out for long, and he's back after missing just a single game.

  • Carlos Santana 1B | ARI

Indians' Carlos Santana: Drives in another run

Santana went 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored Sunday against the Blue Jays.

Santana got the Indians into the scoring column in the first inning with a double to left field. The 32-year-old was impressive at the dish throughout a six-game homestand and went 8-for-21 with a home run and five RBI over that stretch. Cleveland will have Monday off before opening a three-game set with the Tigers on Tuesday.

  • Yandy Diaz 1B | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Homers, steals base in victory

Diaz went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, a stolen base and a walk in Sunday's 3-0 win over the Giants.

Diaz had just one long ball in 265 at-bats with Cleveland from 2016-17 but has already drilled three in his first season as a Ray. The 28-year-old hit in the leadoff spot Sunday and has moved around in the lineup a bit to start the year. If he can continue flashing power, he should settle into the middle of the order, giving him more RBI chances in the process.

  • Yandy Diaz 1B | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Leading off Sunday

Diaz will start at first base and lead off in Sunday's game against the Giants, Josh Tolentino of The Athletic reports.

Diaz will occupy the leadoff spot for the third time this season, with each of those assignments coming against left-handed pitching. The Rays are expected to continue to deploy a platoon atop the order for the foreseeable future, with the lefty-hitting Austin Meadows setting the table on most occasions.

  • Kole Calhoun 1B | CLE

Angels' Kole Calhoun: Not starting Sunday

Calhoun (knee) won't start in Sunday's game against the Rangers, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

The Angels have yet to reveal who will replace Calhoun in right field, but the 31-year-old will be afforded at least one day off after bruising his right knee in Saturday's contest. Fortunately for Calhoun, he said he noticed improvement when reporting to the park Sunday and should be available off the bench. Calhoun would seem to have decent odds of rejoining the lineup at some point during the three-game series with Milwaukee that begins Monday.

  • Yuli Gurriel DH | SD

Astros' Yuli Gurriel: Receives planned rest

Gurriel is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Manager AJ Hinch relayed shortly after the lineup was released that Gurriel's absence is merely a planned rest day. With the 34-year-old heading to the bench for the series finale, utility man Aledmys Diaz will enter the lineup and make his first MLB start at first base.

  • C.J. Cron 1B | BOS

Twins' C.J. Cron: Hitting second Sunday

Cron will start at first base and bat second Sunday against the Phillies.

Cron has regularly been hitting in the heart of the order for the Twins this season, but he'll move up a few spots with typical No. 2 hitter Jorge Polanco receiving the day off. Expect the slugger to move back to fourth or fifth in the order when the Twins kick off a two-game set in New York against the Mets on Tuesday.

  • Yuli Gurriel DH | SD

Astros' Yuli Gurriel: Bushel of two-baggers in win

Gurriel went 3-for-4 with three doubles and an RBI in Saturday's 6-0 win over the A's.

While the 34-year-old is still looking for his first home run in 2019, he's had no problem putting a charge in the ball -- five of his 10 hits so far have been two-baggers, leading to a .303/.361/.455 slash line. Gurriel's fantasy ceiling is limited due to his lack of true over-the-fence power, but he still offers solid value in deeper formats.

  • Kole Calhoun 1B | CLE

Angels' Kole Calhoun: Exits with knee bruise

Calhoun left Saturday's game against the Rangers with a right knee contusion, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Calhoun went 0-for-3 with three strikeouts and collided with the outfield wall earlier in the game, though the injury appears minor. Manager Brad Ausmus said the 31-year-old is considered day-to-day and could still be in the lineup for Sunday's series finale.

  • Jose Abreu 1B | HOU

White Sox's Jose Abreu: Blasts third homer

Abreu went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a 9-2 loss to Seattle on Saturday.

Abreu got the White Sox on the board in the fourth inning by clubbing a homer to left field. The 32-year-old first baseman is now 8-for-29 with three home runs and eight RBI in the young season.
