    Carlos Santana again shows signs Tuesday of awakening

    Indians third baseman/catcher Carlos Santana continued to emerge from a season-long slump Tuesday night against the Angels.

    Santana slugged his second home run in two games and has doubled his RBI total on the year with six in those two games. He has four hits during that time to break free from a 3-for-58 slide.

    Kole Calhoun no longer in walking boot

    Angels outfielder Kole Calhoun ditched the walking boot and was able to play catch Monday, MLB.com reports. He is expected to be out until at least mid-May.

    "He's out of the boot and walking around, but he's still sore," manager Mike Scioscia said.

    Carlos Santana breaks out of slump with three-run homer

    Indians third baseman Carlos Santana broke out of a 1-for-27 slide with a home run in his team's 6-3 loss to the Angels in Los Angeles on Monday.

    Santana launched a three-run home run off Tyler Skaggs in the fourth inning. He finished 2 for 4 with a run scored and three RBI. He is hitting .140 with two home runs and six RBI in 86 at-bats.

    Jose Abreu homers again, plates four runs in win over Rays

    The hits kept coming for White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu on Sunday, as he went deep and plated four runs in his team's 9-2 win over the Rays.

    Abreu took David Price deep in the sixth inning for a two-run home run. He added a two-run single in the following inning. He went 2 for 4 with two runs scored and four RBI, improving his batting average to .262 on the year.

    Abreu leads the league with 10 home runs, 31 RBI and a.631 slugging percentage through his first 26 games (103 at-bats). He has three home runs and 10 RBI in his last three games.

    Manager says Kole Calhoun is 'making progress'

    Angels outfielder Kole Calhoun is "making progress" from ligament sprain in his ankle, manager Mike Scioscia told MLB.com on Saturday. Calhoun is currently rehabbing in Arizona, but has yet to ditch a walking boot. He is expected to be out until at least mid-May.

    Jose Abreu continues remarkable run

    White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu continued the stellar start to his career Friday, accounting for six runs in a 9-6 walkoff win over the Rays.

    Abreu had already driven in two runs before he stepped to the plate with the bases load in the bottom of the ninth, and he added four more in the most dramatic fashion possible. Abreu clubbed his second home run of the game to end the game, finishing 3 for 5 with six RBI.

    Abreu has been everything the White Sox could have hoped so far, hitting .263/.336/.632 with nine home runs and 27 RBI through his first 24 games. 

  • Asdrubal Cabrera continues to awaken with two-hit game

    Indians shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera continued to emerge from a slump and hit well against left-handers Thursday against Kansas City.

    Cabrera raised his batting average to .238 with a two-game game. He singled in the first off Royals southpaw Bruce Chen and added a two-run double in the fifth to give his team a 5-0 lead. He has 16 hits in his last 53 at-bats.

  • Chris Colabello delivers big night Wednesday to key 12-inning win

    Twins designated hitter Chris Colabello went 2 for 6 with a home run and four RBI in his team's 6-4 win over the Rays Wednesday.

    Colabello knocked a two-run home run in the fourth inning to tie things up at two. His next hit came in the 12th inning, with his single bringing home two runs and leading the Twins to a win. He has been excellent in the first few weeks, hitting .346/.386/.577 with three home runs and an AL-leading 26 RBI in 78 at-bats.

    Astros designated hitter Chris Carter went 2 for 4 with two RBI and his first home run of the season in his team's 5-2 win over the Mariners Tuesday.

    It's been a rough beginning to the season for Carter, who was 1 for 19 over his previous seven games before Tuesday's two-hit performance. He now owns a .148/.264/.279 line in 61 at-bats.

    Jose Abreu stays hot with sixth home run Tuesday

    White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu kept up his hot hitting Tuesday, going 2 for 3 with his sixth home run in his team's 8-6 loss to the Tigers.

    Abreu ended an 0-for-14 slump by going 8 for 16 with three doubles and two home runs over his last four games. He owns a .259/.344/.580 line with six home runs and 19 RBI in 81 at-bats.
