  • Rowdy Tellez 1B | TEX

Pirates' Rowdy Tellez: Finally ends homer drought

Tellez went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBI in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Twins.

The 29-year-old slugger took Simeon Woods Richardson deep in the seventh inning to produce the game's first run, then was at the heart of a three-run rally in the eighth. Tellez hadn't homered since March 31, and Saturday's blast snapped a 48-game power drought in which he slashed just .197/.262/.235 with five doubles. He is showing signs of life at the plate, however, batting .391 (9-for-23) over his last seven games with seven of his 15 RBI on the season.

  • Bryce Harper DH | PHI

Phillies' Bryce Harper: Big day across pond

Harper went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Saturday's 7-2 win over the Mets.

After doubling in the first inning, Harper got the Phillies on the board in the fourth with a solo shot off Sean Manaea, his 15th homer this year. Harper had been slumping a bit prior to the Phillies' trip to London -- he'd gone 7-for-36 (.194) with just one home run in his previous 10 contests. Overall, the 31-year-old Harper is slashing .276/.384/.535 on the year with 45 RBI and 36 runs scored across 258 plate appearances.

  • Jake Bauers RF | MIL

    Brewers' Jake Bauers: Sitting Saturday

Bauers isn't in the Brewers' lineup Saturday versus Detroit.

Bauers will take a seat after going 0-for-4 with a walk and a run scored during Milwaukee's win in Friday's series opener. Rhys Hoskins will start at first and Christian Yelich will serve as the DH, allowing Jackson Chourio to start in left field.

  • Michael Busch 3B | CHC

Cubs' Michael Busch: Reaches three times in loss

Busch went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double and a run scored in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Reds.

Busch came into the contest in a bit of a slump, as he was just 1-for-10 over his previous six games. Overall, he's slowed down some after a strong start to the season, though he still has a solid .783 OPS and provides decent pop against righties. While Busch continues to generally sit against lefties, he has at least batted .304 (7-for-23) against them when given the opportunity.

  • Michael Toglia 1B | COL

Rockies' Michael Toglia: Makes impact in Friday's start

Toglia went 2-for-4 with a triple, three RBI and a run scored Friday against the Cardinals.

Toglia drew his second straight start in right field over Hunter Goodman since being recalled to the majors Thursday. The Rockies have rotated their outfield regularly this season, but Toglia appears to be the preferred option in right field for the time being.

  • Giants' Wilmer Flores: Swats two homers

Flores went 2-for-5 with two solo home runs in Friday's win over Texas.

Flores opened the game's scoring with a solo blast in the second inning before going deep again in the fourth. He's knocked three home runs while driving in seven runs over his last two games. Before that, he was stuck in a 21-game homerless drought, during which he produced a .490 OPS. Flores is now slashing .224/.298/.353 with four home runs and 21 RBI through 52 appearances.

  • LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW

Giants' LaMonte Wade: Hitting and throwing

Wade (hamstring) has begun hitting and throwing programs at the Giants' complex in Arizona, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Wade still has plenty of boxes to check off before he can start playing in rehab games, but resuming baseball activities is a step in the right direction. The 30-year-old was diagnosed with a Grade 2 hamstring strain in late May and still projects to be sidelined until at least the end of June.

  • Joey Gallo LF | CHW

Nationals' Joey Gallo: Out of lineup against lefty

Gallo is absent from the lineup for Friday's game against Atlanta.

Gallo started against a lefty earlier this week, but he will begin Friday's game on the bench as Atlanta turns to southpaw Chris Sale as its starting pitcher. Joey Meneses will start at first base for the Nationals.

  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Slugs homer Thursday

Freeman went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Thursday's 11-7 win over Pittsburgh.

Freeman helped Los Angeles' offense get off to a fast start with his three-run blast in the first inning. The long ball extended his modest hitting streak to five games, during which he has slashed .389/.455/.889 with two homers, five RBI, five runs and two steals. Freeman has four home runs over his past 15 contests, matching the amount of homers he hit across his initial 49 games of the campaign.

  • Reds' Christian Encarnacion-Strand: Has positive follow-up exam

Encarnacion-Strand (wrist) had a follow-up exam with Reds doctors Wednesday, and he was cleared to take the next step in his rehab, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

While that would seem to be good news for Encarnacion-Strand, who was diagnosed with a right ulnar styloid fracture May 8, he opted to get a second opinion, putting his rehab on hold for the moment. At the time of his diagnosis, Encarnacion-Strand was given a four-to-six week recovery timeline.
