Mets' Pete Alonso: Passes concussion protocol
Alonso has passed concussion protocol after being hit in the head/neck area by a pitch in Saturday's loss to the Angels, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Alonso was plunked by a wild breaking ball from Halos reliever Jose Soriano in the eighth inning and was removed from the game for a pinch runner. It sounds like he's going to be fine, though, with Mets manager Buck Showalter saying he doesn't anticipate the slugger needing to undergo any more tests in the morning.

Mets' Pete Alonso: Leaves following HBP to head
Alonso was lifted from Saturday's game versus the Angels in the eighth inning after being hit in the back of the head by a pitch, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Angels reliever Jose Soriano missed badly with a breaking ball, striking Alonso in the back of the head/neck area after his helmet had fallen off. The slugger seemed to be OK as he got up quickly and walked to first base, but the Mets opted to play things cautiously and remove him. Alonso is likely set to go through concussion testing. He was 0-for-3 with two strikeouts prior to the hit-by-pitch.

Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Tallies four more hits Friday
Freeman went 4-for-5 with a double, three runs and an RBI in a 7-4 win against the Red Sox on Friday.

The 14 homers and 79 RBI are both career highs for Bohm, who is now slashing .284/.338/.433 on the season.

Paul Goldschmidt 1B | NYY
Cardinals' Paul Goldschmidt: Blasts 21st homer
Goldschmidt went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 7-2 loss to Philadelphia.
Goldschmidt gave the Cardinals an early lead with his first-inning dinger, but that was the only damage the Redbirds could manage on the evening. The 35-year-old slugger remains productive, slashing .278/.367/.457 through 125 games. However, his 21 home runs leave him on a pace to finish below 30 home runs in a full season for the first time since 2016.
