  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Braves' Matt Olson: Drills two home runs

Olson went 3-for-5 with two homers and four RBI in Sunday's win over Philadelphia.

Olson launched a two-run shot during Atlanta's seven-run first inning before going deep again in the fifth. He was in a small slump entering Sunday, going 3-for-25 (.120) over his previous seven games since his last multi-hit effort. Still, he's ripped five homers over his last 10 contests, giving him 16 on the year with a .236/.360/.538 slash line.

  • Carlos Santana 1B | ARI

Pirates' Carlos Santana: Exits with injury

Santana was removed from Sunday's game against the Mariners due to lumbar spine muscular tightness, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Santana went 0-for-2 with a walk to begin Sunday's matchup, but he was replaced defensively in the bottom of the sixth inning. He's being examined and treated following his removal, and it's unclear whether he'll be available for Monday's series opener in San Francisco. If Santana is sidelined, Connor Joe could see increased time at first base with Ji-Man Choi (Achilles) still on the 60-day injured list.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Managing hamstring tightness

Bohm isn't starting Sunday's game against Atlanta due to hamstring tightness, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Bohm will be available off the bench if needed Sunday, and manager Rob Thomson expects the 26-year-old to return to the lineup for Tuesday's series opener against the Mets. Kody Clemens is starting at first base while Edmundo Sosa starts at the hot corner Sunday.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Rests in series finale

Bohm is out of the lineup for Sunday's game in Atlanta.

Bohm's absence from the starting nine in the series finale opens up room at the corner-infield spots for Kody Clemens and Edmundo Sosa, who will start at first and third base, respectively. Unless he's used off the bench, Bohm will put his five-game hitting streak on hold until he likely rejoins the lineup Tuesday against the Mets.

  • Yuli Gurriel DH | SD

Marlins' Yuli Gurriel: Gets sixth straight start

Gurriel will start at first base and bat sixth in Sunday's game against the Angels, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

With Jorge Soler seeing more work in right field of late while the Marlins are without all of Jesus Sanchez (hamstring), Jazz Chisholm (toe) and Avisail Garcia (back), Gurriel has been able to claim more reps at first base while Garrett Cooper has served as Miami's designated hitter. Gurriel finds himself in the starting nine Sunday for the sixth consecutive contest.

  • Matt Mervis 1B | WAS

Cubs' Matt Mervis: Takes seat Sunday

Mervis is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.

Mervis is currently in the midst of an 0-for-9 skid over the last three games, so he'll get a day off to clear his head Sunday. Trey Mancini will replace Mervis as the starting first baseman and will hit sixth.

  • Pete Alonso 1B | BAL

Mets' Pete Alonso: First to 20 homers

Alonso went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 10-7 loss to the Rockies.

Alonso was held hitless in the series opener in Colorado on Friday, but he was able to find his power swing again Saturday. This was his third homer in his last five games, and he's the first in the majors to 20 long balls this season. The first baseman is slashing .239/.339/.558 with 46 RBI and 37 runs scored as one of baseball's top power hitters.

  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Extends hitting streak to 16 games

Freeman went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two walks and an RBI in Saturday's 6-5 victory versus the Rays.

Freeman reached base four times in the contest, the third time he's accomplished that feat this season. The veteran first baseman has knocked at least one hit in 16 straight games, a stretch during which he's batting .444 (28-for-63) with 18 RBI. Freeman has added nine doubles, a triple, four homers and 15 runs during the red-hot stretch, and he currently leads the majors with 20 two-baggers on the campaign.

  • Garrett Cooper 1B | ATL

Marlins' Garrett Cooper: Gets breather Saturday

Cooper is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Angels.

Cooper will get a breather after going 1-for-5 with a run scored against the Angels on Friday. Yuli Gurriel will get the start at first base and hit fifth in Cooper's absence.

  • Carlos Santana 1B | ARI

Pirates' Carlos Santana: Homers against old team

Santana went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Friday's 11-6 win over the Mariners.

Santana spent part of 2022 with the Mariners, launching 15 homers in 79 contests with the club. His power didn't follow him to Pittsburgh -- this was his third homer in 198 plate appearances as a Pirate, though he's maintained a near-everyday role at first base. He's shown some life lately by hitting safely in nine of his last 12 games, but he hasn't logged a multi-hit effort since May 4. Santana is slashing .234/.328/.368 with 24 RBI, five stolen bases, 20 runs scored and a solid, but still career-worst, 12.6 percent walk rate in 47 games this season.
