Alonso went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run Wednesday in a 10-inning victory versus Tampa Bay.

Alonso failed to reach base in his first four plate appearances, but that was all forgotten when he slugged a three-run homer against Pete Fairbanks in the 10th inning to send New York home with a dramatic come-from-behind win. It was the second straight game with a long ball for the first baseman, who also extended his on-base streak to 11 with the blast. Alonso ranks first in the majors with 15 homers on the season.

Santana went 1-for-4 with a double, a walk, an RBI and a run scored Wednesday against the Tigers.

Santana did his damage in the seventh inning, driving in a run with a double prior to also coming around to score. He entered Wednesday's game having collected only seven hits across 43 at-bats in May, though he now has a double in each of his last two games. Santana continues to bat in the heart of the Pirates' order, which has helped him rack up 22 RBI across 40 games on the campaign.

Cronenworth went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Wednesday's loss against the Royals.

Cronenworth smoked a fastball over the right field wall to tie the game in the fifth inning. It was his first homer since April 15. May has been rough for Cronenworth, who has a .220 average and .320 slugging percentage since the calendar turned. He struggled in May last season as well, posting a .290 slugging percentage before turning his season around in June.

Tellez is not starting Wednesday against the Cardinals.

Darin Ruf will cover first base and bat cleanup with young lefty Matthew Liberatore on the mound for St. Louis. William Contreras is serving as the designated hitter and batting second.

Gurriel will start at first base and bat seventh Wednesday against the Nationals, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Garrett Cooper will slide into the lineup as the designated hitter and Jorge Soler will play right field to open up a spot for Gurriel. The 38-year-old is sporting a .681 OPS with three home runs in 97 plate appearances on the season.

Toglia is starting at first base and batting seventh for the Rockies on Wednesday against the Phillies, Patrick Lyons of TheDNVR.com reports.

Toglia wasn't in the lineup Monday for the first game after his recall, but he's now started two straight -- this one is against a righty. Mike Moustakas is on the bench. The two should share first base while C.J. Cron (back) is out.

Alonso took Yonny Chirinos deep to left in the seventh inning and has put himself back into a tie with Max Muncy atop the league with 14 home runs. The 28-year-old continues to struggle to hit for average. He has not had a multi-hit game since April 27, but he's still been managing to get on base (.409 OBP over his last 10 games). For the year, Alonso is slashing .233/.33/.516 with 33 RBI, 28 runs and a 22:42 BB:K over 183 plate appearances.

Walker went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's loss against the Athletics.

Walker wasted no time getting the Diamondbacks on the board, swatting a two-run homer off Kyle Muller in the first inning and moving into a tie for 10th place in most home runs in MLB this season. The right-handed slugger ended up reaching base in each of his first three plate appearances, hitting an infield single in the third before being walked in the fifth. Though Walker had registered one hit in his last 16 at-bats, he has maintained strong plate discipline by drawing seven walks in that span. After exploding onto the fantasy scene with 36 home runs a season ago (160 games), Walker is on pace to beat those numbers in 2023 having whacked 10 long balls through 40 games.

Mervis went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's loss to the Astros.

Mervis connected against Cristian Javier in the second inning for his first career MLB home run. He had six long balls in 24 games at the Triple-A level this season and should continue to develop his power stroke in the majors as he settles in. The rookie is now batting .250 with a .650 OPS across nine games and figures to stick as the team's primary option at first base for the foreseeable future.

Goldschmidt went 2-for-3 with a double, two walks, two RBI and one run in Monday's 18-1 win over the Brewers.

Goldschmidt has posted four hits across the past two games and has turned in three multi-hit efforts in his last four contests, bringing his season-long batting average up from .306 to .319. Though the Cardinals are still sitting eight games under .500 for the season, the team's struggles don't fall on the shoulders of the reigning National League MVP. His .949 OPS is only 33 behind his mark from 2022, and he's already two stolen bases away from matching last season's total of seven.
