Freddie Freeman 1B | LAD
Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Tallies hit in return
Freeman went 1-for-4 in Monday's 5-3 win against the Phillies.
Freeman missed eight games while on the family medical emergency list before returning to action Monday. He received a standing ovation from the crowd at Dodger Stadium prior to his first at-bat and singled to right field in the third. Freeman and his wife, Chelsea, shared that their three-year-old son was discharged from the hospital Sunday after being diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome. With the child on the mend, Freeman appears set to resume his everyday role at first base for the Dodgers.

Michael Busch 3B | CHC
Cubs' Michael Busch: Has rough game Monday
Busch went 0-for-4 with four strikeouts in Monday's 3-0 loss to the Twins.
Busch came into the night on a three-game hitting streak, during which he blasted two home runs and only struck out once. It was a different story for the 26-year-old Monday as he struck out four times in a game for just the second time this season, with his last such performance coming back on May 5. Busch should be able to bounce back, as he's batting a solid .257 with a .797 OPS this year.

Ty France 1B | CIN
Reds' Ty France: Connects first homer with new club
France went 3-for-5 with a solo home run in Monday's 10-3 win over the Marlins.
France was part of the Reds onslaught against the Marlins on Monday, blasting one of four homers by the group. It was his first homer as a member of the Reds in his fifth game since joining them. The veteran was designated for assignment by Seattle after managing a .662 OPS through 88 games and was 1-for-12 thus far in Cincinnati, so Monday's showing was a welcome sight.

Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Returning to action vs. Philly
Freeman (personal) has been activated from the family medical emergency list ahead of Monday's game against the Phillies.
Freeman has been away from the club since July 27 to be with his family after his three-year-old son was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome. It was reported earlier in the day that he was back with the team at Dodger Stadium leading up to Monday's matchup, and the organization has since made his return official. Freeman will man first base and hit third in Monday's series opener.

Joey Gallo 1B | WAS
Nationals' Joey Gallo: Cleared for rehab assignment
Gallo (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Rochester on Tuesday, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.
Gallo participated in on-field work over the weekend and his hamstring held up well enough for the Nationals to send him out on a rehab assignment. Gallo is scheduled to play first base for five innings Tuesday, then serve as a designated hitter Wednesday before logging five to seven innings in right field Thursday. It's unclear if the Nationals plan on activating Gallo after Thursday's game, or if his rehab assignment will extend through the weekend. Once he returns from the 10-day injured list, Gallo may not be an everyday member of the lineup, as the Nationals have gotten solid results of late from Juan Yepez and Alex Call at first base and right field, respectively.

Wilmer Flores 1B | SF
Giants' Wilmer Flores: Knee procedure on tap
Flores will travel to Los Angeles and is scheduled to undergo a Tenex procedure on his right knee Tuesday, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.
The Giants are unlikely to provide a recovery timeline for Flores until the procedure is completed, but the veteran first baseman will likely be shut down from baseball activities for several weeks and could face an uphill battle to make it back from the injured list before the end of the season. Before he was deactivated July 25 with what the Giants had termed as right knee tendinitis, Flores operated largely in the short side of a platoon at first base and slashed .206/.277/.318 with four home runs and 26 RBI over 242 plate appearances. Trade-deadline pickup Mark Canha now looks to be the preferred platoon mate at first base with LaMonte Wade.

LaMonte Wade 1B | SF
Giants' LaMonte Wade: Taking seat against lefty
Wade is out of the lineup for Monday's game against Washington.
Wade will avoid a matchup with lefty Patrick Corbin on Monday, giving way to the right-handed-hitting Mark Canha at first base. Wade went 3-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's 8-2 win over the Reds, bringing his OPS up to .824 on the season.

Reds' Ty France: Draws fourth straight start
France will start at first base and bat seventh in Monday's game against the Giants.
France will make a fourth consecutive start at first base, though he'll be facing off against a right-hander (Logan Webb) on Monday after his previous three starts came versus lefties. He's gotten off to a slow start to his time with the Reds, recording just one hit in 12 at-bats. While France looks fairly secure as the Reds' primary first baseman against left-handed pitching, his spot in the lineup versus righties might be on shakier ground. He could lose work against righties once the lefty-hitting Will Benson (personal) is reinstated from the paternity list.

Freddie Freeman 1B | LAD
Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Back with team Monday
Freeman (personal) has rejoined the Dodgers and could be activated from the restricted list ahead of Monday's game against the Phillies, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Freeman has been away from the Dodgers for the past eight games to be with his wife and his ailing three-year-old son, who was recently diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome. After revealing in a social media post Sunday that his son has been discharged from the hospital and is on the road to recovery, Freeman looks set to rejoin the lineup soon. Freeman will address the media Monday, but the Dodgers haven't yet confirmed that the 34-year-old will be formally activated ahead of the series opener with the Phillies. It's possible that the Dodgers want Freeman to take another day or two to get acclimated to baseball activities before reinstalling him as their everyday first baseman.

Joey Gallo 1B | WAS
Nationals' Joey Gallo: Closing in on rehab assignment
Nationals manager Dave Martinez said Friday that Gallo (hamstring) could be cleared to head out on a minor-league rehab assignment later this week, MLB.com reports.
Washington had planned for Gallo to take reps at first base and in right field over the weekend, and if his left hamstring responded well to the defensive work, he'll likely get the green light to report to a minor-league affiliate. Gallo has been on the shelf since June 12 with the hamstring strain, so he'll likely need multiple games in the minors to regain his timing at the plate before making his return from the 10-day injured list. Juan Yepez and Alex Call are currently serving as the Nationals' primary options at first base and right field, respectively, but both have fared well during their latest stints in the big leagues. If Washington wants to keep carving out regular playing time Yepez and Call once Gallo returns, the Nationals could look to use Gallo at designated hitter, where the lefty-hitting Travis Blankenhorn has been filling the strong side of a platoon lately.
