Goldschmidt went 2-for-3 with a home run, a walk and three RBI in Tuesday's 6-0 win over the Cubs.

Goldschmidt knocked a two-run single in the third inning and a solo shot in the fifth. This was the first baseman's fourth multi-hit effort in seven contests since the All-Star break, and he's swatted five homers in that span. For the season, the steady 34-year-old is up to a .332/.412/.611 slash line with 25 long balls, 81 RBI, 70 runs scored and five stolen bases through 97 games.

Steer was traded from the Twins to the Reds on Tuesday along with Christian Encarnacion-Strand and Steven Hajjar in exchange for Tyler Mahle, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Steer, 24, was pretty firmly blocked at his best infield positions in Minnesota, so this is a nice bump for his fantasy value. He hit .269/.361/.528 with 20 home runs and a 17.0 percent strikeout rate in 388 plate appearances between Double-A and Triple-A. Steer has seen time at third base, second base, shortstop and designated hitter.

The Nationals acquired Voit, left-hander MacKenzie Gore, right-hander Jarlin Susana, outfielders Robert Hassell and James Wood and shortstop CJ Abrams from the Padres on Tuesday in exchange for outfielder Juan Soto and first baseman Josh Bell, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

San Diego initially planned to include Eric Hosmer as the veteran piece headed to the Nationals in the blockbluster deal, but Hosmer used his no-trade clause to decline the move to Washington. Hosmer was later shipped to Boston, and the Padres and Nationals kept the skeleton of the deal in place until Voit was swapped in for Hosmer as a replacement. With Washington, Voit should slot into the everyday role at first base that was vacated by Bell. The move from one of baseball's top teams to one of its worst may hurt Voit from a run-producing and run-scoring standpoint, but he should at least face less competition for at-bats in his new organization. Voit hit .225 with 13 home runs, one stolen base, 48 RBI and 38 runs in 82 games with San Diego this season.

Solano will serve as the Reds' designated hitter and No. 5 batter in Tuesday's game against the Marlins.

Solano will draw his third consecutive start Tuesday, with the most recent two coming against left-handed pitching. As the Cincinnati roster is currently constructed, Solano looks to be a short-side platoon player, but a path to a full-time role could open up if the Reds move Brandon Drury prior to Tuesday's 6 p.m. ET trade deadline.

The Rockies recalled Montero from Triple-A Albuquerque ahead of Tuesday's doubleheader with the Padres.

With Kris Bryant (foot) going on the injured list Monday, Montero will provide the Rockies with an extra right-handed bat, though he won't necessarily be thrust into a regular role in the lineup unless the Rockies deal away an everyday player or two ahead of Tuesday's trade deadline. The corner-infield prospect has logged 35 plate appearances with Colorado this season, slashing .176/.200/.235 with a 42.9 percent strikeout rate.

The Padres acquired Bell and Juan Soto from the Nationals on Tuesday in exchange for first baseman Luke Voit, shortstop CJ Abrams, outfielder Robert Hassell, outfielder James Wood, left-hander MacKenzie Gore (elbow) and right-hander Jarlin Susana, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Bell may not be the headliner in the deal, but he's certainly no throw-in, having posted an .877 OPS and hitting 14 home runs over 103 games with the Nationals this season. The Padres moving Voit to Washington and Eric Hosmer in a separate deal with Boston, Bell should be the leading candidate to step in as the Friars' everyday first baseman. He's not expected to arrive in San Diego until Wednesday, so Bell won't be available to make his Padres debut in either game of Tuesday's doubleheader with the Rockies.

Alonso went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a double, two walks and two total runs in Monday's 7-2 win over the Nationals.

Alonso reached base four times in the contest, the fifth time he has accomplished that feat this season. The All-Star first baseman hit his 27th homer of the campaign in the third inning, taking Patrick Corbin deep to left field. Alonso has been on a roll since the All-Star break, batting .438 (14-for-32) with three homers, eight RBI and a 6:2 BB:K through nine contests.

Flores went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 8-2 loss to the Dodgers.

Flores' fifth-inning blast was the Giants' lone extra-base hit in the contest. He's gone yard three times in his last six games, and he's up to 16 homers this year. The infielder has added a .251/.330/.455 slash line with 56 RBI, 54 runs scored and 20 doubles through 97 games. With both Thairo Estrada (concussion) and Brandon Crawford (knee) out, Flores should be an everyday player at second base for the foreseeable future.

Freeman went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored in Monday's 8-2 win over the Giants.

Freeman has multiple hits in three straight games, and he's gone 8-for-14 in that span. The first baseman provided a pair of RBI singles in addition to his double Monday. For the season, he's up to a remarkable .328/.404/.541 slash line with 15 home runs, 68 RBI, 72 runs scored, 36 doubles and nine stolen bases through 102 contests.

Bohm went 4-for-5 with a solo home run, a double and three runs scored in Sunday's 8-2 win over the Pirates.

Bohm doubled and scored in the first inning and crossed home again in the fifth. He then capped off his huge day with a solo shot off of Dillon Peters in the sixth. The hot-hitting infielder went 33-for-76 (.434) with 15 runs scored and eight extra-base hits in 20 games this month. Bohm boosted his season slash line to .299/.331/.415 through 94 games.
