  • Cardinals' Paul Goldschmidt: Racks up four hits in win

Goldschmidt went 4-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI in Saturday's 5-4 win against Pittsburgh.

Goldschmidt's second-inning double plated a pair of runs, and he collected three additional base knocks throughout the contest. This was the veteran's first four-hit performance of the season and eighth multi-hit effort during his current 14-game hitting streak. During the red-hot stretch, he is batting .458 (27-for-59) with four homers, 12 doubles, 18 RBI, 10 runs and a stolen base.

  • Dominic Smith 1B | ATL

Mets' Dominic Smith: Sitting night game

Smith is not starting Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader versus the Rockies.

Smith played first base in the Mets' Game 1 win, going 0-for-4 with a run scored. Pete Alonso will handle first while J.D. Davis enters the lineup at designated hitter, batting eighth.

  • Brewers' Rowdy Tellez: Not starting Saturday

Tellez isn't starting Saturday against the Nationals.

Tellez has been an everyday player for the Brewers recently, but he'll get his first day off since April 28 after he went 5-for-18 with two homers, a double, five RBI and three runs over the last five games. Keston Hiura will draw the start at first base and bat sixth.

  • Giants' Wilmer Flores: Added to Saturday's lineup

Flores was added to the lineup for Saturday's game against the Padres, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

The 30-year-old was scheduled to get a day off Saturday, but he'll serve as the designated hitter and bat second after Brandon Belt (knee) was scratched from the lineup. Flores has gone 4-for-13 with a double, three runs, two RBI, a walk and a strikeout over the last three games.

  • Giants' Wilmer Flores: Not in Saturday's lineup

Flores will sit Saturday against the Padres, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Flores is having a typical season, hitting a solid-but-unspectacular .266/.331/.403 while appearing at multiple spots around the infield. He could see a few more off days going forward now that Evan Longoria (finger) is back from the injured list, though both Flores and Longoria will sit Saturday while Tommy La Stella handles the hot corner.

  • Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Snaps power drought Friday

Cronenworth went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and two additional runs Friday in an 8-7 victory versus San Francisco.

Cronenworth hit out of the leadoff spot for the 12th straight game and scored three of the Padres' eight runs. In the third inning, he knocked a two-run homer to right field that was his first long ball since late April. Cronenworth has yet to get going offensively this season, slashing .207/.304/.338 with three homers, 17 RBI and no stolen bases across 168 plate appearances.

  • Alfonso Rivas 1B | STL

Cubs' Alfonso Rivas: Takes seat Saturday

Rivas isn't starting Saturday against Arizona.

Rivas has gone 0-for-11 with a run, two walks and six strikeouts over the last four games, and he'll get a breather with left-hander Madison Bumgarner starting for the Diamondbacks on Saturday. Frank Schwindel will start at first base while Willson Contreras serves as the designated hitter.

  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Swipes third bag

Freeman went 3-for-5 with two runs scored, two RBI and a stolen base in Friday's 4-1 win over the Phillies.

The first baseman was involved in every run the Dodgers scored on the night. Freeman has multi-hit performances in three of his last five games as he continues to be worth every penny he got paid in the offseason, and on the season he's slashing .322/.414/.497 with three homers, three steals, 21 RBI and 25 runs in 38 games.

  • Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Continues strong run

Walker went 1-for-3 with two walks, a solo home run and a second run scored in Friday's 10-6 win over the Cubs.

Walker is having himself a week. The first baseman has five hits over 21 at-bats, but four of the hits cleared fences. The homer binge gives him 10 in 40 games, vaulting him to the team lead in the category. He finished 2021 with the same number of home runs over 115 games.

  • Brewers' Rowdy Tellez: Launches ninth home run

Tellez went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, a double and two runs scored in Friday's 7-0 win over Washington.

Tellez broke a scoreless tie with his two-run shot off of Erick Fedde in the sixth inning. He later doubled and scored another run in the eighth. The lefty slugger is now slashing .244/.313/.527 with nine home runs and 32 RBI through 144 plate appearances. Since his monster eight-RBI performance May 4, Tellez has gone 12-for-56 (.214) with two home runs over his last 14 appearances.
