  • Cardinals' Paul Goldschmidt: Back from restricted list

Goldschmidt (personal) was reinstated from the restricted list by the Cardinals on Friday.

Goldschmidt was unable to travel to Canada for the Cardinals' two-game series against the Blue Jays earlier this week, but he'll now rejoin the team ahead of Friday's series opener versus the Nationals. The 34-year-old has homered in his last four games, going 8-for-18 with five long balls and 10 RBI.

  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Gets aboard thrice

Freeman went 1-for-3 with a double, two walks, two RBI, a stolen base and two runs scored in Thursday's 13-0 win over the Rockies.

Freeman had a single, a steal and a run in the first inning. He added a two-run double in the seventh to close out the scoring in the lopsided win. The first baseman has matched his stolen base total from last year (eight), and he's just two shy of his career-best mark from 2018 with over two months to go. He's gone 33-for-85 (.388) in July to lift his season slash line to .323/.401/.538 with 15 home runs, 65 RBI, 67 runs scored and 33 doubles in 98 contests.

  • Alfonso Rivas 1B | STL

Cubs' Alfonso Rivas: Riding pine against lefty

Rivas isn't starting Thursday's game against the Giants.

Rivas went 1-for-5 with a double, a walk and two strikeouts over the last two games but will get a breather with left-hander Alex Wood on the mound Thursday. Frank Schwindel is shifting to first base while Yan Gomes starts behind the dish.

  • Donovan Solano 1B | TEX

Reds' Donovan Solano: Starting against lefty again

Solano will start at third base and bat fifth Thursday against the Marlins and left-handed starting pitcher Daniel Castano.

The righty-hitting Solano has benefited from the Reds facing a lefty-heavy schedule of late, but the 34-year-old has made a case for earning more work versus right-handed pitching, too. Dating back to July 7, Solano is slashing .420/.444/.600 with two home runs, nine RBI and six runs in 15 games.

  • Rowdy Tellez 1B | ATL

Brewers' Rowdy Tellez: Powers Milwaukee to victory

Tellez went 2-for-4 with a walk, two home runs and six RBI in Wednesday's 10-4 win over the Twins.

The slugging first baseman launched a pair of three-run blasts, one off Chris Archer in the first inning and the second off Jharel Cotton in the fourth to carry the Brewers to their fifth win in six games coming out of the All-Star break. Tellez is batting only .182 (14-for-77) in July, but he's connected on five of his 20 homers on the year while driving in 16 of his 64 runs.

  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

    Braves' Matt Olson: Stays hot

Olson went 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run Wednesday against the Phillies.

Olson accounted for Atlanta's only offense by going yard in the sixth inning to tally his 20th homer of the season. He has gone deep seven times in his last 12 starts, also collecting 17 RBI and nine runs scored in that span. Overall, he owns a .252/.339/.499 across 439 plate appearances on the season.

  • Pete Alonso 1B | BAL

Mets' Pete Alonso: Opens scoring Wednesday

Alonso went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Yankees.

Alonso extended his hitting streak to six games quickly, hitting a leadoff blast in the second inning to open the scoring. In that span, he's gone 11-for-20 (.550) with two home runs, three doubles, seven RBI and five runs scored. The All-Star first baseman is slashing .281/.357/.547 with 26 homers, 84 RBI, 55 runs, two stolen bases and 18 doubles through 97 contests overall.

  • Josh Bell DH | MIN

Nationals' Josh Bell: Plates two runs in win

Bell went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 8-3 win over the Dodgers.

Bell put Washington on the board in the top of the first inning, when he grounded out to third base to score Victor Robles. He added an insurance run in the top of the ninth with a sacrifice fly, giving him his 13th multi-RBI game of the season. Bell will remain in the lineup for Wednesday's series finale, manning first base and batting cleanup.

  • Luke Voit 1B | NYM

Padres' Luke Voit: Plates three runs

Voit went 1-for-4 with three RBI in Tuesday's 6-4 extra-inning win over the Tigers.

He helped break a 3-3 tie in the top of the 10th, when he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to score Jurickson Profar. Voit, who is getting on base at a .409 clip through the Padres' first five games out of the All-Star break, will start at first base and bat cleanup in Wednesday's series finale.

  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Braves' Matt Olson: Connects on 19th homer

Olson went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Phillies.

Olson's fifth-inning long ball gave Atlanta a 5-0 lead that provided more than enough cushion for rookie starting pitcher Spencer Strider, who yielded one run over six innings before getting pulled from the contest. In his first season with Atlanta, Olson has seen his batting average slip from his final year in Oakland, but he's more or less maintained his power production. He's now up to 19 home runs and has already matched his career-high total from last season with 35 doubles, which leads the majors. Olson will start at first base and bat third in Wednesday's series finale.
