  • Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Sitting Saturday

Cronenworth will sit Saturday against Atlanta.

Cronenworth started six straight games after returning from a finger injury but grabbed just four hits. Fernando Tatis remains the primary shortstop, but Cronenworth should still slot in somewhere on the infield in most games while someone else gets a rest.

  • Kole Calhoun 1B | CLE

Diamondbacks' Kole Calhoun: Slugs fifth long ball

Calhoun went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a 4-2 loss to the Dodgers on Friday.

Calhoun got Arizona on the board in the second inning with a solo shot to right off Los Angeles starter Tony Gonsolin. The outfielder now has hits in four consecutive games, all of them of the extra-base variety, and has showed well following a month-long absence.

  • Cardinals' Paul Goldschmidt: Five hits in doubleheader

Goldschmidt went 5-for-9 with a home run, a double, four RBI and three runs scored as the Cardinals swept Friday's doubleheader versus the Cubs.

Goldschmidt has recorded multiple hits in each of his last four games, going 11-for-18 with four homers and two doubles in that span. The first baseman's massive surge has lifted his slash line to .296/.364/.515 with 30 long balls, 97 RBI, 99 runs scored and 12 stolen bases through 653 plate appearances. He's locked in at the plate at the perfect time for his fantasy managers.

  • Brewers' Rowdy Tellez: Could return on road trip

Tellez (kneecap) could be activated from the injured list during next week's six-game road trip, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Manager Craig Counsell confirmed Friday that Tellez won't return over the weekend against the Mets, but he noted that "everything is going in the right direction" for the first baseman. The Brewers haven't provided an exact target date for Tellez to be activated, but Friday's update would suggest he could return as soon as Tuesday in St. Louis.

  • Josh Bell DH | MIN

Nationals' Josh Bell: Plates one, reaches base thrice

Bell went 2-for-3 with one RBI and a walk in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Reds.

Bell singled in the third inning, driving in Lane Thomas for the first run of the game. He's reached base safely three times in eight of his last 16 games. The 28-year-old is slashing .257/.340/.482 with 27 long balls, 86 RBI and 70 runs scored in 530 plate appearances.

  • Cardinals' Paul Goldschmidt: Belts two long balls

Goldschmidt went 3-for-5 with a pair of home runs and five RBI during Thursday's win over the Brewers.

Goldschmidt evened up the score with a three-run blast against Brad Boxberger in the seventh inning. He then knocked in his second homer of the night with a 415-footer against Aaron Ashby in the ninth. The 34-year-old has been heating up, hammering three long balls over the last two games. Overall, Goldschmidt is batting .291/.362/.508 on the season with 29 homers.

  • Luke Raley RF | SEA

Dodgers' Luke Raley: Homers in Wednesday's loss

Raley went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run Wednesday in the Dodgers' 10-5 loss to the Rockies.

Raley has started in right field in both of the Dodgers' games since he was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday, going 2-for-7 between the contests. The 27-year-old looks like he'll have the chance to play regularly against right-handed pitching while Chris Taylor (neck) is day-to-day and while Cody Bellinger (rib) is on the injured list.

  • C.J. Cron 1B | BOS

Rockies' C.J. Cron: Four hits in Wednesday's win

Cron went 4-for-5 with two doubles, two runs and an RBI in Wednesday's 10-5 win over the Dodgers.

Cron has produced seven hits -- including four doubles -- through the first two games of the series with the Dodgers to boost his season average to .277. With four games remaining on the Rockies' homestand, Cron looks primed for a big finish to the week.

  • Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Cranks homer in loss

Walker went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 9-2 loss to Atlanta.

Walker had one of two extra-base hits for the Diamondbacks on the night as they mustered up just six total hits as a team. Walker's home run came in the eighth inning off Chris Martin for just his ninth long ball of the year. The 30-year-old first baseman is struggling to crack 10 home runs this season after just narrowly missing 30 home runs in 2019. It's unclear what happened to all his power but it certainly hurts his value. Walker's struggled to a .239/.311/.370 slash line to go along with nine homers, 43 RBI, 49 runs scored and 35:99 BB:K over 409 plate appearances.

  • Braves' Freddie Freeman: Scores three runs Wednesday

Freeman went 3-for-5 with two doubles, a home run, two RBI and three runs scored in Wednesday's 9-2 win over the Diamondbacks.

All three of Freeman's hits went for extra bases in this one. The 32-year-old doubled in the first and fifth innings before adding some insurance with a two-run home run in the ninth inning. The five-time All-Star has eight hits, with four of those going for extra bases, over his last three games and has at least a hit in 18 of 19 games played in September. Freeman is enjoying another excellent season overall, slashing .304/.393/.519 with 31 home runs, 82 RBI, 116 runs scored, eight steals and 77:98 BB:K over 652 plate appearances.
