Cron went 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI in Tuesday's loss to the Giants.

Cron doubled in teammate Charlie Blackmon in the fourth inning to open the scoring for Colorado. He has put together a strong season with the Rockies, slashing .278/.377/.542 with 26 homers and a career-high 80 RBI. This was his fifth three-hit game since the beginning of August.

  • Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Out of lineup

Walker will sit Tuesday against Texas.

With his off day here against Spencer Howard, Walker has now been on the bench against the last three righties the Diamondbacks have faced. He hasn't made a good case for everyday at-bats this season, hitting just .233/.309/358. Pavin Smith will be the first baseman Tuesday.

  • Cardinals' Paul Goldschmidt: Resting Tuesday

Goldschmidt is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Dodgers, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

It appears to be a routine day off for the first baseman after he posted a three-hit performance Monday. Matt Carpenter will enter the lineup and bat sixth.

  • Donovan Solano 1B | TEX

Giants' Donovan Solano: Could return for weekend series

Solano (Illness) could be activated from the COVID-19 injured list ahead of the Giants' three-game road series versus the Cubs that begins Friday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Solano wasn't able to join the Giants in Colorado for their three-game series in Colorado that began Monday, but he was cleared to return to the team facility in San Francisco after completing a quarantine period. Assuming he fares well during his workouts the next few days, Solano could rejoin the Giants this weekend. Solano will likely serve as a short-side platoon mate at second base for Tommy La Stella once he's reinstated.

  • Cardinals' Paul Goldschmidt: Pokes trio of singles

Goldschmidt went 3-for-4 in Monday's 5-1 loss to the Dodgers.

All three of the first baseman's hits were singles, and he accounted for half of the hits St. Louis recorded in the game. Goldschmidt has gone a bit quiet in run production, as he's gone five straight games without an RBI. For the year, he's slashing a hearty .286/.355/.485 with 24 home runs, 82 RBI, 76 runs scored and 10 stolen bases in 578 plate appearances.

  • Pete Alonso 1B | BAL

Mets' Pete Alonso: Slugs homer No. 30

Alonso went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Monday's 4-3 loss to the Nationals.

His sixth-inning solo shot off Patrick Corbin gave the Mets a 3-2 lead, but unfortunately for his club, Edwin Diaz blew the save in the ninth. Alonso extended his hitting streak to six games with the performance, and over his last 24 contests he's batting .337 (32-for-95) with six of his 30 homers on the year as he tries to keep New York in the playoff picture.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Slated to see doctor

Bohm (wrist) is slated to visit with a doctor to determine the extent of his injury, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Bohm hasn't appeared in any games at Triple-A Lehigh Valley since Aug. 29 due to a sore left wrist. Although he's been able to participate in on-field work during pregame drills, he hasn't made as much progress in his recovery as the team had hoped. A better idea of the 25-year-old's status will likely be revealed following his visit with a doctor.

  • LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW

Giants' LaMonte Wade: Riding pine Monday

Wade isn't starting Monday's game against the Rockies, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Wade went 2-for-5 with two doubles, a run and a stolen base across the last two games but will head to the bench with left-hander Kyle Freeland on the mound for the Rockies. Kris Bryant will shift to left field while Mauricio Dubon enters the lineup in center.

  • C.J. Cron 1B | BOS

Rockies' C.J. Cron: Not starting Monday

Cron isn't starting Monday's game against the Giants.

Cron will be out of the lineup for the first time since Aug. 5 after he hit .278 with four home runs, a double, seven RBI and three walks across the last 10 games. Joshua Fuentes will start at first base and bat seventh.

  • Dominic Smith 1B | ATL

Mets' Dominic Smith: Activated, not starting
