Reds' Joey Votto: Riding pine Monday

Votto isn't starting Monday's game against the Cubs, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

  • Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Socks walk-off homer

Cronenworth went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and an additional run scored in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Astros.

Cronenworth reached base three times, but the most important hit was a ninth-inning homer off Ryne Stanek to win the game. Before Sunday, Cronenworth struggled at the plate, batting .100 over his last 10 games. The 27-year-old is slashing .267/.345/.466 with 20 long balls, 62 RBI, 88 runs, and four steals over 566 plate appearances.

He's slashing .254/.322/.478 with 76 RBI, 61 runs scored and 18 doubles through 454 plate appearances as a reliable slugger in the heart of the order.

  • Pete Alonso 1B | BAL

Mets' Pete Alonso: Doubles twice, scores twice

Alonso went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles and two runs scored in Sunday's 13-6 win over Washington.

The first baseman extended his modest hitting streak to five games, and he's notched four doubles and a triple while going 8-for-20 (.400) in that span. Alonso also came around to score twice Sunday, the first time he's scored multiple runs in a game since Aug. 13. He's slashing .266/.344/.507 with 29 home runs, 79 RBI, 68 runs scored and three stolen bases through 529 plate appearances.

  • C.J. Cron 1B | BOS

Rockies' C.J. Cron: Goes yard in win

Cron went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a strikeout in Saturday's 7-6 win over Atlanta.

Cron put the Rockies on the board in the bottom of the second inning Saturday but failed to generate any production in his other plate appearances. The 31-year-old has displayed plenty of power recently and has slashed .365/.441/.823 with 12 home runs, eight doubles, 33 RBI and 18 runs across his last 27 appearances.

  • Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Sitting Sunday

Walker is not in the lineup Sunday against the Mariners.

Walker started the past two games and will take a seat Sunday while mired in a 2-for-19 slump. Pavin Smith will move to first base while Jake McCarthy starts in right field.

  • Joey Votto 1B | TOR

Reds' Joey Votto: Scores twice Saturday

Votto went 1-for-3 with one RBI, two runs scored and a walk in Saturday's 7-4 win over the Tigers.

Votto drove in Tyler Stephenson on a single in the third inning for the Reds' first run. He scored later in the inning on Aristides Aquino's home run. In addition, Votto walked and scored in the seventh inning. The veteran first baseman is slashing .272/.372/.549 with 28 homers, 85 RBI and 59 runs scored in 446 plate appearances. He is just two home runs shy of his third 30-homer season in his 15-year career.

  • LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW

Giants' LaMonte Wade: Registers steal Saturday

Wade went 1-for-1 with a double, a hit-by-pitch and a stolen base in Saturday's 6-1 loss to the Dodgers.

The 27-year-old has started in just one of the last four games, as Kris Bryant has settled into seeing most of the at-bats in right field. Wade didn't do himself any favors by hitting .237 across 26 games in August. He could see more playing time in left field after Alex Dickerson (hamstring) went on the injured list Saturday. Wade is slashing .254/.326/.520 with 17 home runs, six stolen bases, 43 RBI and 38 runs scored across 287 plate appearances.

The 26-year-old Tellez is slashing .261/.329/.463 with seven long balls, 26 RBI and 19 runs in 300 plate appearances with the Brewers.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Battling sore wrist

Bohm hasn't played for Triple-A Lehigh Valley since Sunday due to a sore wrist, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Bohm was demoted in late August in an effort to get him back on track following a very disappointing sophomore season at the big-league level. He looked good through six Triple-A games, hitting .318 with more walks (five) than strikeouts (four), but his quest to sort out his swing has now been on hold for several days. He's at least been able to work out on the field prior to games, so his absence may not last much longer, but it remains unclear when he'll play again in the minors, let alone for the Phillies.
