Freeman went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI, a walk and a run scored in a 15-2 win over the Mets on Friday.
It was the third time this month that Freeman has recorded three hits in a game. The highlight of his night came early on, when he roped a two-run double into right field to extend the lead to 3-0. Freeman is enjoying a spectacular September in which he is hitting .439/.537/.848 with six home runs, 27 RBI and 17 runs scored in 17 games. The four-time All-Star continues to be one of the strongest hitters in an explosive Braves lineup that's averaging over seven runs per game during the final month of the regular season.

Pete Alonso 1B | BAL
Mets' Pete Alonso: Benched for Friday's game
Alonso is not in the lineup Friday against Atlanta.
There haven't been reports that Alonso is battling an injury, so it's unusual to see him sit against lefty Max Fried, with the left-handed Dominic Smith starting ahead of him at first bench. Still, it's possible Alonso has been benched on merit, as his .755 OPS is considerably worse than Smith's 1.034 mark as well as designated hitter J.D. Davis's .802 mark.
-
Josh Bell DH | MIN
Pirates' Josh Bell: Not starting Game 1
Bell is out of the lineup for Game 1 of Friday's doubleheader against the Cardinals.
Bell started the past 14 games and has a 1.024 OPS during that stretch, but he'll take a seat for Friday's matinee. Jose Osuna receives the start at first base in Game 1.

Alec Bohm 3B | PHI
Phillies' Alec Bohm: Goes deep in loss
Bohm went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, two runs and a walk in Thursday's loss to the Mets.

Bohm also laced a double in the second inning for his 10th two-bagger in only his 34th career game. The rookie has enjoyed a fine start to his career, posting a .317/.368/.496 slash line through 136 plate appearances.

Pete Alonso 1B | BAL
Mets' Pete Alonso: Blasts 12th homer
Alonso went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Thursday's win over the Phillies.
Alonso initiated a Mets comeback with a solo shot to left field in the sixth inning. While his .215 average and .754 OPS are considerable dropoffs from his 2019 Rookie of the Year campaign, Alonso does rank in the top 10 among National League hitters with 12 long balls on the season.
