Alonso went 1-for-3 with a solo home run Tuesday against the Nationals.

Alonso took Tanner Rainey deep in the eighth inning to tie the game at 5-5. It was his 16th homer of the season and second in as many games to begin the team's series against the Nationals. The 24-year-old rookie continues to be a tremendous source of power, hitting .260/.347/.604 across 193 plate appearances.

Flores (foot) was placed on the 10-day injured list prior to Tuesday's game.

The move is retroactive to Monday as Flores as been held out of game action since exiting Sunday's game due to the hit by pitch. The severity of the injury remains unclear. Ketel Marte has moved to second base with Jarrod Dyson starting in center field to cover his absence.

Solano was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday.

Solano's stay in the minors lasted all of one day, and he'll head right back to the big leagues with Travis Bergen (shoulder) landing on the injured list. Solano should return to the bench role he'd occupied previously for the Giants.

Flores (foot) remains out Tuesday against the Padres.

Flores was hit by a pitch on his foot Sunday and sat out Monday's contest. It's not clear when he's expected back. Ketel Marte again starts at second base, with Jarrod Dyson starting in center field.

Naylor went 3-for-5 with two home runs, a walk and four RBI on Monday in Triple-A El Paso's 21-10 win over Albuquerque.

Naylor is now up to 10 home runs on the season and lifted his average above .300 after the three-hit performance. The 2015 first-round pick began his career as a first baseman, but has played exclusively in the corner outfield at El Paso. Naylor's full-time move to the outfield could help expedite his arrival to the big leagues, given that the Padres already have a long-term commitment to Eric Hosmer at first base.

Alonso went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Monday's 5-3 win over the Nationals.

He took Patrick Corbin deep in the first inning for his 15th homer of the year. Alonso leads all rookies in HR and RBI (35) on the season so far, and his .259/.344/.590 slash line through 46 games is nearly identical to his performance at Triple-A Las Vegas in 2018.

France is not in the lineup Monday against the Diamondbacks.

France has started 11 of the past 12 games for the Padres, going 7-for-36 (.194) with a pair of homers and six RBI during that stretch. Greg Garcia is starting at third base in place of France on Monday, with Ian Kinsler joining the starting lineup at second base.

Flores (foot) isn't in Monday's starting lineup against San Diego.

Flores had to leave Sunday's contest after getting drilled on the foot by a pitch, and he was later diagnosed with a foot contusion. He'll be forced to miss at least one start while on the mend. Ketel Marte will move to the keystone while Jarrod Dyson nabs a start in center field with Flores out of the mix.

Solano was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Monday, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

Solano hit .222 with an RBI in six games with the Giants, but he'll head back down to the minor leagues to make room on the 25-man roster for Andrew Suarez, who's making his 2019 season debut Monday evening.

Rizzo went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk Sunday in the Cubs' 6-5 win over the Nationals.

After missing a few days to tend to a back injury, Rizzo returned to the lineup for all three games of the weekend. Though Rizzo went an unremarkable 2-for-12 in those contests, his lone hit Sunday provided an important insurance run in the narrow victory. The home run was Rizzo's 11th of the season, putting him well on his way to reach 25 in the category for the sixth consecutive campaign.
