  • Dominic Smith 1B | ATL

Mets' Dominic Smith: Slugs 10th homer

Smith went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Monday's 15-11 extra-innings win over the Reds.

He took R.J. Alaniz deep in the fifth inning, tying the wild affair at 7-7. Smith is up to 10 homers on the season, with four of them coming in July; he's slashing .291/.333/.582 over 15 games this month.

  • Pete Alonso 1B | BAL

Mets' Pete Alonso: Launches 18th homer

Alonso went 2-for-6 with a home run and three RBI in Monday's 15-11 extra-innings win over the Reds.

The two-time Home Run Derby champ hasn't shown any kind of hangover, hitting safely in all four games since the All-Star break. Alonso's first-inning blast off Vladimir Gutierrez was his 18th long ball of the season to go along with a .256/.335/.484 slash line and 52 RBI through 82 contests.

  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Athletics' Matt Olson: Homers in win

Olson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 4-1 win over the Angels.

Olson plated a nice insurance run for the A's, increasing their lead to four runs with a solo shot to right off Alex Claudio in the eighth inning. The 27-year-old slugger has now recorded at least one hit in 10 of his last 12 games, and he's been more than just a power threat at the plate. He's sitting on a well-rounded .287/.375/.578 line with 24 homers, 61 RBI, 61 runs scored, three steals and a 44:61 BB:K over 381 plate appearances.

  • Jose Abreu 1B | HOU

White Sox's Jose Abreu: Homers in nightcap

Abreu went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in a 5-3 win over the Twins in the second game of Monday's doubleheader.

Abreu went deep in the first inning for this 17th home run of the season and passed Carlton Fisk on the franchise's all-time home run list. He also had an RBI in the first game of the doubleheader when he doubled in a run. Abreu continues to tear through the month of July, slashing .305/.368/.576 with four home runs, 17 RBI and 10 runs scored over 15 games.

  • Josh Bell DH | MIN

Nationals' Josh Bell: Belts 13th home run

Bell went 1-for-5 with a solo home run during Monday's win over the Marlins.

Bell extended Washington's early lead with a 434-foot blast in the first inning. The 28-year-old has now hit safely across six games, raising his season slash line to .249/.310/.449 with 13 home runs.

  • Yandy Diaz DH | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Leaves with neck spasms

Diaz left Monday's game against the Orioles due to neck spasms, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Diaz will be considered day-to-day until more information on his injury becomes available.

  • Garrett Cooper 1B | ATL

Marlins' Garrett Cooper: Out with sprained elbow

Cooper was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday with a sprained left elbow, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Cooper exited Sunday's loss to the Phillies with the injury and will be sidelined for at least 10 days. An MRI confirmed the initial diagnosis, per De Nicola, though it's unclear how long the 30-year-old is expected to be sidelined.

  • Alex Kirilloff LF | MIN

Twins' Alex Kirilloff: Sits for first game of twin bill

Kirilloff is out of the lineup for the first game of Monday's doubleheader with the White Sox.

Miguel Sano will get the nod at first base in place of Kirilloff, ending a streak of six consecutive starts for the rookie. Expect Kirilloff -- who is hitting .245 with two home runs and seven RBI through 13 games in July -- to re-enter the lineup for the second game of the twin bill.

  • Donovan Solano 1B | TEX

Giants' Donovan Solano: Third straight two-hit game

Solano went 2-for-5 in Sunday's 2-1 loss to St. Louis.

The 33-year-old has started the second half on a high note with three straight two-hit performances. The downside to Solano's recent work is that all six of those hits were singles. The contact-hitting infielder is slashing .274/.325/.367 with three home runs, 21 RBI, 24 runs scored and a stolen base in 237 plate appearances. He shouldn't be expected to hit for much power nor provide much speed on the basepaths, but he's started six of the Giants' last seven games at second base.

  • Bobby Dalbec 1B | CHW

Red Sox's Bobby Dalbec: Enters for injured Arroyo

Dalbec entered Sunday's game after Christian Arroyo was removed due to a hamstring injury. He went 0-for-3 in a 9-1 loss to the Yankees.

Boston manager Alex Cora indicated prior to the game that Dalbec would serve in a platoon at first base with Arroyo -- Dalbec against lefties; Arroyo against righties -- but that will change following the injury, which is expected to land Arroyo on the injured list. Danny Santana (quadriceps) is expected to return Monday, so there could still be a platoon situation, but he's worse against right-handers (34 wRC+ in 2021) than Dalbec (55 wRC+).
