Gurriel (finger) won't start Monday's game against the Red Sox, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Gurriel was scratched from Saturday's lineup due to left middle finger inflammation, and he'll miss a third consecutive game Monday. Manager Dusty Baker said that Gurriel is "getting close" to returning, and he's expected to return later in the series against Boston.

Rizzo was participating in agility/running work in the outfield Monday, and he later started taking grounders at first base. The 31-year-old has missed the last five games due to back stiffness, but he could return to game action Monday if he feels good after his pregame warmups.

Votto (thumb) was playing catch on the field ahead of Monday's game against the Phillies, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Votto progressed to taking grounders May 22, and the first baseman continues to participate in activities as he recovers from his thumb injury. The 37-year-old has been on the injured list since May 7 due to a fractured left thumb, and his return date isn't yet clear.

France went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI in Sunday's 4-2 win over Texas.
France doubled in a run in the first inning and then brought home a pair with a single in the third. It was his first multi-RBI game since April 22 and he picked up his second extra-base hit since returning from an IL stint May 24. He's slashing .252/.346/.381 with 19 RBI this season.

The right fielder is trying to bounce back from an ugly stretch, as he entered this game with just one hit over his previous 16 at-bats.
