Kurtz went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a second run scored in Tuesday's 11-1 win over the Dodgers.

Kurtz stretched the Athletics' lead to 9-1 in the eighth inning with the first homer of his big-league career. Aside from a lack of power, his bat has looked major-league ready since his April 23 call-up from Triple-A Las Vegas. Kurtz is batting .281 with a .732 OPS, six RBI, six runs scored, one double and one triple over his first 17 games in the majors while handling a starting role at first base.

Naylor went 2-for-5 with a home run, four RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's 10-6 loss to the Giants.

Naylor delivered a two-run single to put the Diamondbacks ahead 3-0 in the first inning. He added a two-run homer in the ninth, but Arizona didn't add to the comeback effort after that blast. The first baseman is on a six-game hitting streak, going 7-for-25 (.280) with three extra-base hits in that span. For the season, Naylor's at a .296/.367/.459 slash line with five homers, 27 RBI, 21 runs scored, seven steals and 11 doubles over 42 contests.

Schanuel went 3-for-4 in Tuesday's 6-4 loss to the Padres.

Schanuel has five multi-hit efforts over his last nine games, going 12-for-32 (.375) in that span, but he's been hitless in the other four games during that stretch. The first baseman has hit well enough to command a starting role in his second full major-league season. He's up to a .265 average with a .716 OPS, two home runs, 10 RBI, 19 runs scored, one stolen base, six doubles and a triple through 39 contests. His plate discipline remains sharp, but there's little power in his profile.

Schmitt (oblique) started at first base and went 1-for-3 with a run scored in Triple-A Sacramento's 5-3 win over Salt Lake on Tuesday.

Schmitt began his rehab assignment with Sacramento after being officially placed on the 10-day IL on April 19 due to a Grade 2 left oblique strain. The 26-year-old infielder singled in the first inning before coming around to score. Schmitt has made eight appearances in the majors this season, slashing .174/.208/.261 with two RBI and one run scored across 23 plate appearances.

Torkelson went 1-for-3 with two walks, a solo home run and two total runs scored in Tuesday's 10-9 win over the Red Sox in 11 innings.

Torkelson hit his 11th home run of the season in the fourth inning against Boston starter Brayan Bello. The infielder surpassed the 10 long balls he recorded in the regular season last year, when he posted a disappointing .669 OPS during a down campaign. Torkelson may never deliver a great batting average, but the 25-year-old has real power, and he's seemingly put his 2024 struggles behind him.

Freeman requires 90 minutes of treatment on his surgically repaired right ankle every day, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Freeman noted that the ankle is "not 100 percent" but is "good enough" to play on. The lingering ankle discomfort is likely the main reason Freeman has yet to steal a base in 2025 after averaging 15 steals over the previous three seasons. However, it has not affected Freeman at the plate, as he's sporting a robust .376/.437/.734 batting line with nine home runs and 33 RBI. Freeman has been told by doctors that he might not have to do as much daily treatment on the ankle after the All-Star break.

Schmitt (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports

Schmitt has been cleared for game action after missing more than three weeks with Grade 2 left oblique strain. The infielder should be ready to rejoin the Giants within the next week or so if all goes well.

Burger started at first base and went 1-for-3 in Monday's 2-1 win over the Rockies.

Earlier Monday, Burger was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock, where he spent the previous 10 days and batted .391 over six games. After getting on track in the minors, Burger should get the chance to take back a near-everyday role at first base, as Corey Seager's (hamstring) expected move to the injured list could result in Josh Smith (back) seeing more action at shortstop. Burger has thus far been a disappointment in his first season in Texas, slashing .194/.234/.330 with three home runs and a 29.7 percent strikeout rate over 111 plate appearances.

Alonso went 1-for-4 with two RBI in Monday's 4-3 win over the Pirates.

Alonso gave the Mets the lead in the seventh inning on an infield RBI single, and he sent the home crowd happy in the bottom of the ninth on a sacrifice fly to right field that brought Francisco Lindor home. Alonso has reached base safely in 22 of his last 23 games and is slashing .318/.428/.604 with nine home runs, 36 RBI and 28 runs over 187 plate appearances this season.

Schmitt (oblique) might begin a rehab assignment as soon as Tuesday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Schmitt is more than three weeks removed from suffering a Grade 2 oblique strain and is almost ready to test things out in a game setting. Because his absence has been relatively brief, Schmitt shouldn't require a lengthy rehab assignment before returning to the Giants' active roster.
