O'Hearn is out of the Friday's lineup versus the White Sox.

Salvador Perez will handle designated hitting duties while Drew Butera draws a start behind the dish for the series opener in Chicago. Following four straight starts with the Royals after his promotion in late July, O'Hearn has only started four of the past 12 games.

Cooper (wrist) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Jupiter on Friday, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.

Cooper has been out since July 24 with a right wrist sprain. Initial reports held that he could be out until September, but the fact that he's beginning his rehab assignment now suggests that he'll likely beat that timeline. He wasn't an everyday starter before he got injured, and Austin Dean and Rafael Ortega have been called up since the injury and look to be in line for regular roles, so Cooper's playing time could be limited once healthy.

Flores is not in the lineup against the Phillies on Friday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Flores will receive a breather after going 4-for-12 with three RBI during Thursday's doubleheader. In his absence, Jose Bautista will start at first base and bat sixth in the order.

Votto was placed on the 10-day disabled list retroactive to Thursday due to a right lower-leg contusion.

Votto has been dealing with this injury since he was hit by a pitch against the Nationals on Aug. 4. He was held out of a few games since that date, and it became evident in recent days that lingering discomfort would force Votto to take some time off. He will be eligible to return against the Cubs on Aug. 26. Look for Brandon Dixon to receive an uptick in playing time at first base in his absence. Aristides Aquino was recalled from Double-A Pensacola in a corresponding move.

Hoskins went a combined 3-for-7 with two runs, four RBI and a pair of homers in Thursday's doubleheader against the Mets.

Hoskins launched his 24th homer of the season with a second-inning solo shot off Corey Oswalt in the first game of the day. In the second game, he brought his total up to 25, hitting a three-run homer off Steven Matz in the first inning. Since being moved back to the cleanup spot Tuesday, he's gone 5-for-14 with three homers.

Calhoun went 3-for-4 with a home run and a pair of runs scored in Thursday's 8-6 loss to Texas.

Calhoun recorded his second three-hit contest over the last four games, contributing his 17th long ball in the process. The 30-year-old continues his second-half surge, slashing .321/.409/.607 with four homers in 56 August at-bats.

Olson went 2-for-5 with a double in an extra-innings loss to the Mariners on Wednesday.

Olson's modest hot streak continued Wednesday, with his production vaulting his tally to 6-for-15 with three doubles, two RBI, a walk and a run over the last four games. The 24-year-old has improved on a lackluster July over the first half of August, as he's now hitting .267 during the current month and is just one double short of the six he compiled over 25 July games.

Kirilloff went 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles Wednesday in High-A Fort Myers' 3-2 win over Charlotte.

The outfielder extended his hit streak to 13 games with his fourth four-hit performance of the season. The 20-year-old hasn't shown much over-the-fence power (four homers in 209 plate appearances) since moving up to the Florida State League, but he has still maintained a solid .188 ISO thanks to his ample doubles output.

Santana is out of the starting lineup for Game 1 of Thursday's twin bill versus the Mets, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Santana will remain on the bench as right-hander Corey Oswalt takes the mound for New York in the matinee. Expect to see Santana back in the lineup during Game 2, especially with southpaw Steven Matz (forearm) slated to come off the DL and pitch. Justin Bour will man first base and bat second in Game 1.

Alonso went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI for Triple-A Las Vegas in Wednesday's win over Fresno.

The homer was his 15th since a promotion to Triple-A and 30th overall on the campaign. Alonso, the Mets' No. 2 fantasy prospect, is slashing .251/.354/.560 through 50 games with Las Vegas, and while the 23-year-old isn't on the 40-man roster and is thus unlikely to get a September callup, he could begin slugging home runs for the big club as soon as next April.
