Matt McBride 1B | PHI
Athletics' Matt McBride: Optioned to Triple-A
The A's optioned McBride to Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday.
McBride was sent back to Nashville to clear a roster spot for the returning Stephen Vogt. He will garner consideration next time the A's need to bring up a catcher from the minors.

Paul Goldschmidt 1B | NYY
Diamondbacks' Paul Goldschmidt: Hits 17th home run Sunday
Goldschmidt went 1-for-4 with his 17th home run of the season in Sunday's win over the Reds.
Goldschmidt might not match last season's 33 home runs, but he's still putting up great numbers once again. His 17 home runs are joined by 63 RBI, 13 steals and a .289/.410/.504 slash line, so Goldschmidt remains an elite fantasy option.

Chris Carter 1B | LAA
Brewers' Chris Carter: Out of Monday's lineup
Carter is not in the lineup for Monday's series opener against the Diamondbacks.
Carter will get his first rest since July 4 after collecting just one hit in 16 at-bats over the last four games. Jonathan Lucroy will move out from behind the plate to man first, while Martin Maldanado will catch Chase Anderson and bat eighth for the Brewers.

Tommy Joseph 1B | TEX
Phillies' Tommy Joseph: Plates run in Phillies win
Joseph went 2-for-5 with an RBI against the Marlins on Monday.
The rookie first baseman has been on fire this month, hitting a robust .380. The hot streak has raised his average from .221 all the way to .267. Hitting in an otherwise iffy Phillies offense, Joseph has 13 home runs and 25 RBI this season, with much of that production coming in July.

Chris Colabello 1B | MIL
Blue Jays' Chris Colabello: Optioned to Triple-A
Colabello was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo on Monday.
The move isn't much of a surprise, but it makes Colabello officially a member of the Bisons -- or, more importantly, not a member of the Jays. Since testing positive for PEDs in late April, Colabello hasn't received many (if any) encouraging words from the team's front office. Manager John Gibbons even had some choice words last month, saying players "come and go" in reference to Colabello. If there was any hint of fantasy value attached to his name before, it's gone now.

Tommy Joseph 1B | TEX
Phillies' Tommy Joseph: Not in Sunday's lineup
Joseph is out of the lineup Sunday against the Pirates.
Joseph has started back-to-back games and five of the last six overall, but will take a seat Sunday in favor of veteran Ryan Howard at first base. The 25-year-old Joseph owns a shining 1.243 OPS in July, due mostly to his five long balls, so look for the younger option to be a fixture at first the rest of the way out.

Freddie Freeman 1B | LAD
Braves' Freddie Freeman: Stitches removed
Freeman had stitches removed from his back Saturday, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Freeman had undergone a procedure 11 days ago to remove a mole from an area just below his neck. The stitches, Freeman said, were not a factor in a recent slump that saw him go 2-for-27 with 15 strikeouts in the seven games since the All-Star break.
