Donovan Solano 1B | TEX
Mariners' Donovan Solano: Handling short-side platoon role
Solano will start at first base and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Tigers.
Solano will pick up his third start of the season, all of which have come at first base and when the Mariners have gone up against left-handed pitching. The 37-year-old looks like he'll be limited to a short-side platoon role while Rowdy Tellez and Luke Raley are healthy and available to serve as the primary options at first base and designated hitter, respectively.

Luke Raley RF | SEA
Mariners' Luke Raley: Taking seat versus lefty
Raley is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers.
Raley and fellow left-handed hitter Rowdy Tellez will move to the bench for the series finale while the Tigers send southpaw Tarik Skubal to the hill. With Raley getting the afternoon off, Cal Raleigh will occupy the designated-hitter spot while Mitch Garver fills in for Raleigh behind the plate.

Mariners' Rowdy Tellez: On bench against lefty
Tellez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers.
The Tigers are sending southpaw Tarik Skubal to the hill, so Tellez and fellow left-handed hitter Luke Raley will hit the bench as the Mariners add a couple of extra right-handed bats to the lineup. Donovan Solano will step in for Tellez at first base.

LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW
Giants' LaMonte Wade: Not in lineup against southpaw
Wade is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game in Houston.
Left-hander Framber Valdez will start for the Astros, so the lefty-hitting Wade will begin the series finale on the bench. Casey Schmitt will fill in at first base and bat fifth.

Alec Burleson LF | STL
Cardinals' Alec Burleson: Idle against lefty
Burleson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.
Through the first six games of the season, the Cardinals have faced left-handed starting pitchers two times, and the lefty-hitting Burleson has checked out of the lineup on both occasions. The right-handed-hitting Luken Baker will replace Burleson as the Cardinals' designated hitter Wednesday while southpaw Yusei Kikuchi takes the hill for the Angels.

Christian Encarnacion-Strand 1B | BAL
Reds' Christian Encarnacion-Strand: Back in action Wednesday
Encarnacion-Strand (hand) will start at first base and bat sixth in Wednesday's contest versus the Rangers.
Encarnacion-Strand didn't play Tuesday after leaving Monday's game following a hit-by-pitch on the right hand, but it will be just a one-game absence for the infielder. The 25-year-old is 4-for-14 with one home run in the early going this season.

Freddie Freeman 1B | LAD
Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Remains out of lineup
Freeman (ankle) is absent from Tuesday's lineup against Atlanta.
This is the second straight game during which Freeman is not in the lineup for the Dodgers after aggravating his right ankle at home while in the shower Monday. This is the same ankle that the 35-year-old sprained in 2024 and that has yet to completely heal. He underwent imaging and the X-rays came back negative Tuesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. As Freeman nurses his ankle, Enrique Hernandez has the start at first base again.

Endy Rodriguez C | PIT
Pirates' Endy Rodriguez: Not in Pittsburgh lineup
Rodriguez is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rays.
Rodriguez has garnered three starts at first base and one start at catcher in the early going, but he will begin Tuesday's tilt on the bench. Enmanuel Valdez will handle first base, and Joey Bart will do the catching for Pittsburgh.
