Red Sox's Garrett Cooper: Back in lineup Sunday

Cooper (shoulder) will bat third as the Red Sox's designated hitter Sunday against the Brewers, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

The 33-year-old has recently been battling a shoulder issue, and he's in the starting lineup Sunday for the first time in a week. Cooper has struggled in 16 games since joining the Red Sox with a .205/.271/.295 slash line in 48 plate appearances.

  • LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW

Giants' LaMonte Wade: Absent from lineup Sunday

Wade (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets

Wade tweaked his hamstring in the ninth inning of San Fransisco's 8-7 win over the Mets on Friday, and he'll be out of the lineup for the second straight game as the two clubs finish up their series. Wilmer Flores will fill in at first base for Wade and will bat fifth.

  • Bryce Harper DH | PHI

Phillies' Bryce Harper: Puts game out of reach

Harper went 2-for-5 with a home run and four RBI in Saturday's 8-4 win over the Rockies.

Harper hit an RBI single in the first inning and added a three-run homer in the ninth that gave the Phillies all the offense they needed in the win. He's hit safely in 10 of his last 12 games, going 16-for-46 (.348) with four homers and 12 RBI in that span. For the season, the 31-year-old is up to a .282/.389/.554 slash line with 13 homers, 41 RBI, 32 runs scored, three stolen bases and nine doubles over 48 contests.

  • Yandy Diaz 1B | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Getting breather Saturday

Diaz isn't in the Rays' lineup Saturday against the Royals.

Diaz will get a day off Saturday after going 1-for-4 during a loss in Friday's series opener. His absence will allow Jonathan Aranda to start at first base, moving Isaac Paredes into the DH spot while Amed Rosario starts at the hot corner.

  • J.D. Davis 1B | LAA

Athletics' J.D. Davis: Getting breather Saturday

Davis is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Astros.

He will begin Saturday's game on the bench after four consecutive starts. Davis recorded a hit in each of those four games, going 7-for-16 with two home runs and three RBI over that span. Brent Rooker will serve as the designated hitter Saturday while Tyler Soderstrom starts at first base against right-hander Spencer Arrighetti.

  • Astros' Jon Singleton: Sitting vs. southpaw

Singleton is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Athletics.

With the Athletics sending out left-hander JP Sears for Saturday's contest, Singleton will begin the game in the dugout while the righty-hitting Mauricio Dubon draws the start at first base. Over his last 10 games, Singleton has gone 8-for-34 with five runs, one home run and four RBI.

  • LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW

Giants' LaMonte Wade: Battling hamstring issue

Manager Bob Melvin said Saturday that Wade tweaked his hamstring during the ninth inning of Friday's win over the Mets, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Melvin noted that the Giants consider Wade's injury to be minor, but they have decided not to push their luck and will keep him out of the lineup for Saturday's contest. Wilmer Flores will cover first base and bat fifth while Wade recovers.

  • Pirates' Rowdy Tellez: Sitting Saturday

Tellez isn't in the Pirates' lineup Saturday against Atlanta, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Although the Pirates will be facing a right-hander in Reynaldo Lopez, the left-handed Tellez will step out of the lineup. The 29-year-old is slashing just .175/.242/.225 through 132 plate appearances, so it's possible he's losing his grip on the starting job at first base. Connor Joe will get the nod at first while Edward Olivares starts in right field.

  • Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: On base three times Friday

Guerrero went 2-for-3 with a walk and a double in Friday's loss to the Tigers.

It marks the fourth time in the last seven games that Guerrero has banged out multiple hits. The first baseman has put a sluggish start to the season behind him, and over the last month he's slashing .382/.455/.517 in 23 games with two homers, a steal, 13 runs and 14 RBI.

  • Tigers' Spencer Torkelson: Resting Saturday

Torkelson isn't in the Tigers' lineup for Saturday's game against Toronto, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Torkelson will get a day to clear his head after going 0-for-16 across his last five contests. Mark Canha will cover first base for the Tigers on Saturday, moving Colt Keith into the DH spot while Zach McKinstry starts at second.
