Brewers manager Craig Counsell said Tuesday that Tellez (finger) will remain on his rehab assignment through at least the end of Milwaukee's series against the Dodgers, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Counsell said the Brewers are hoping to get Tellez's bat going in the minors before bringing him back to the big-league squad. He's just 2-for-18 through five games with Triple-A Nashville and has been a liability at the plate (.410 OPS) for Milwaukee since belting his last home run May 22.

  • Giants' Wilmer Flores: Back in lineup Tuesday

Flores (ear) is back in the lineup Tuesday versus Tampa Bay.

After being scratched from Monday's series opener due to an ear infection, Flores will start at third base and bat third Tuesday against the Rays and right-hander Zack Littell. J.D. Davis is on the bench for the host Giants.

Angels' C.J. Cron: Good to go Tuesday

Cron (back) is starting at first base and batting cleanup Tuesday against the Rangers, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Cron sat out the past two games due to back tightness but will rejoin the starting nine Tuesday at Texas. The 33-year-old has struggled to a .523 OPS in 13 games since being acquired from the Rockies ahead of the trade deadline.

  • Alfonso Rivas 1B | STL

Pirates' Alfonso Rivas: Sitting versus lefty

Rivas is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mets.

  • Rays' Jonathan Aranda: Rejoins big club

Aranda was recalled from Triple-A Durham on Tuesday, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Aranda has played in just four games across his two stints in the majors this season, going 3-for-15 with a double, two RBI and two runs. Manuel Margot (elbow) was placed on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move.

Padres' Garrett Cooper: Belts first homer as Padre

Cooper went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in a loss to the Orioles on Monday.

Cooper accounted for San Diego's only run of the contest with his 439-foot solo shot to center field in the sixth inning. It was his first long ball and first RBI since joining the Padres on Aug. 1. Cooper had hit 13 homers for Miami prior to the trade but has had a rough time since moving to the West Coast, slashing .188/.278/.438 over seven contests.

Orioles' Ryan O'Hearn: Slugs 10th homer

O'Hearn went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk Monday in a 4-1 victory versus the Padres.

O'Hearn plated the first run of the contest with a 343-foot solo shot to right field in the second inning. The long ball was his 10th of the campaign, marking the first time since 2019 that he's notched double-digit homers. O'Hearn has already recorded a career-best 40 RBI over 237 plate appearances this season.

He finished with his fourth multi-hit effort over his past seven games, a stretch during which he's batting .393 (11-for-28) with three homers, eight RBI and a stolen base. Goldschmidt went 2-for-2 with a two-run home run, three walks, a stolen base and two total runs scored in Monday's 7-5 win over the Athletics.

The first baseman's slump has dropped him down to a .277/.366/.454 slash line on the year, and he's added 19 homers, 61 RBI, 67 runs scored and 10 stolen bases through 115 games.
