X-rays revealed a fracture in Bauers' right big toe after Monday's game against the Giants, Hunter Baumgardt of Fox Sports 920 Milwaukee reports.

Bauers fouled a ball off his foot during the fifth inning of Monday's contest and was later removed in the seventh. He's scheduled to undergo additional imaging Tuesday to help determine next steps and whether a stint on the IL is necessary. As long as Bauers is out, Andrew Vaughn is likely to start regularly at first base, and Luis Lara also figures to see an uptick in playing time in the outfield.

Mountcastle (foot) is not starting a rehab assignment Tuesday night as initially planned, and he is now being re-evaluated, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

The 29-year-old was expected to start a rehab assignment with Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday after having progressed through his recovery from a left foot fracture at a steady rate. Manager Craig Albernaz said, "Mountcastle wasn't feeling 100 percent" and explained that "to start a rehab assignment not 100 percent is not where you want to be," Jake Rill of MLB.com reports. The Orioles will likely know more about Mountcastle on Wednesday.

Horwitz (hamstring) was diagnosed with a concussion Tuesday after being hit in the helmet with a pitch while on a rehab assignment at Single-A Bradenton, Aiden Stepansky of MLB.com reports.

Horwitz's activation from the 10-day injured list had appeared imminent, but his status is now up in the air as a result of the head injury. The first baseman initially landed on the IL in late June due to a left hamstring strain, but he appears to have made a full recovery from that injury. Horwitz will remain on the IL for now and might need to play more rehab games once he clears concussion protocol.

Locklear is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Pirates.

Locklear will open Tuesday's contest on the bench, but he seems to have worked his way into a part-time role in the Arizona lineup after going 4-for-14 with a home run, a stolen base, a walk, four RBI and three runs while starting in four of the previous five contests. Tim Tawa will get the nod at first base Tuesday, but he's capable of playing all over the infield and outfield if Arizona wants to clear room in the lineup for Locklear.

Harper went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, two walks and an additional run scored in Monday's 8-7 loss to Miami.

Harper launched just his second homer of the month of July on Monday. He's struggled at the plate overall lately, hitting just .190 with the aforementioned two long balls, six doubles and nine RBI over his last 75 at-bats. That said, the All-Star first baseman is still maintaining strong season figures despite the slump, slashing .252/.359/.491 with 22 big flies, 63 RBI, six stolen bases and 64 runs scored across 451 plate appearances.

Kurtz is not in the Athletics' starting lineup against the Red Sox on Monday.

Kurtz has gone 1-for-7 with a three-run home run and five strikeouts in his two games since being activated from the 10-day injured list Saturday. He'll take a seat for Monday's series opener while Jeff McNeil starts at first base and Tyler Soderstrom serves as the designated hitter.

Burger went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run during Monday's 7-3 win over the Mariners.

Burger extended the Rangers' lead to five runs in the third inning with a two-run long ball off George Kirby. It was the 19th home run of the season for Burger, three of which have come since the All-Star break. He is slashing .238/.300/.430 with two steals and 66 RBI across 410 plate appearances.

Steer will wear a splint for the next two weeks after being diagnosed with a partial tear of the tendon sheath in his right wrist, Charlie Goldsmith of Fox 19 Now Cincinnati reports.

Steer suffered the injury on a swing during Sunday's game in St. Louis and was placed on the injured list Monday. The hope is that he can avoid surgery and the injury heals with rest, but it's no guarantee that will happen. A timeline for Steer's return likely won't be available until he's re-evaluated following the two-week shutdown period.

Encarnacion-Strand is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Tigers.

Coby Mayo will receive the nod at third base Monday, but Encarnacion-Strand may have at least temporarily leapfrogged him on the depth chart at third base following a hot start at the plate to begin his tenure with the Orioles. Since being recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on July 16, Encarnacion-Strand is hitting .370 with three home runs and nine RBI across 30 plate appearances. Though Encarnacion-Strand could be a strong source of power while he's playing regularly, fantasy managers should anticipate a sharp downturn in his batting average, after he had struck out at a 30.4 percent clip over a larger sample of 260 plate appearances at Norfolk prior to his promotion.
