Guardians' Josh Bell: Three hits, homer in win

Bell went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run and two RBI in Sunday's win over the Marlins.

Bell stayed hot Sunday with three hits, including his second home run of the season, in Cleveland's 7-4 victory. After a sluggish start to the year, Bell is now 15-for-41 with 10 extra-base hits in his last 11 games. Overall, he's slashing .228/.333/.405 with 11 RBI through 93 plate appearances. Following his slow start this year and a disappointing finish to the 2022 campaign, Bell looks to be turning it around while batting in the middle of a solid Guardians lineup.

  • Giants' Wilmer Flores: Steps out of lineup

Flores is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.

Flores started the past nine games and had a .300/.317/.400 slash line during that stretch, but he'll hit the bench Sunday with Joc Pederson (back) making his return from the injured list. LaMonte Wade will man first base while Mike Yastrzemski, Brett Wisely and Michael Conforto start from left to right in the outfield.

  • Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Opens scoring with homer

Guerrero went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Yankees.

Guerrero broke a scoreless tie in the sixth inning with a two-run homer, a 112.7 MPH line drive off Clarke Schmidt. It's Guerrero's fifth home run of the season and his third in his last five games. The 24-year-old first baseman is off to a hot start, slashing .341/.424/.541 with 13 RBI and 16 runs scored through his first 99 plate appearances this season.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Drives in two

Bohm went 1-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 9-3 victory over Colorado.

Bohm gave the Phillies a 4-3 lead with a run-scoring ground out in the fourth and extended the advantage to 5-3 in the seventh with an RBI double. Through 23 games, the 26-year-old has seven extra-base hits, 18 RBI and 10 runs scored.

  • Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Held out Sunday

Walker (forearm) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.

The 32-year-old is dealing with a forearm issue after being hit by a pitch during Saturday's contest, though he appears to have avoided a serious injury as X-rays came back negative. Walker will receive a day to rest up after starting the previous 10 games. Pavin Smith will take over at first base and bat fifth in the series finale versus the Friars.

  • Yandy Diaz 1B | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Returns to lineup Sunday

Diaz (dehydration) is leading off and playing first base against the White Sox on Sunday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Diaz left Saturday's game while experiencing chest tightness and an elevated heart rate due to dehydration, but he is feeling well enough to hit leadoff against the White Sox for the series finale. The infielder has been excellent in 2023 with six homers, 14 RBI and a .310 average over 71 at-bats.

  • Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Dons ice wrap following HBP

Walker was hit by a pitch on the left forearm Saturday and was wearing an ice wrap following the game, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.

Walker, who remained in the game after getting plunked in the eighth inning, told reporters that X-rays on the arm came back negative. He's played the last 10 games, and the Diamondbacks could use the HBP to give him a day off Sunday in the series finale with the Padres.

  • Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Homers, steals base in loss

Walker went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, an additional RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's loss to the Padres.

Walkers accounted for all of Arizona's runs in the contest, singling to drive in Ketel Marte in the first inning and launching a two-run homer to left field in the third. The first baseman was batting .163 on April 14, but he's driven his average up to .241 by going 11-for-30 in eight games since. Walker's homer Saturday was his third of the campaign and his first since going deep April 10 against Milwaukee.

  • Brewers' Rowdy Tellez: Goes deep again

Tellez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's win over the Red Sox.

For the second game in a row, Tellez found the seats this time with a third-inning shot off Garrett Whitlock. Tellez has just 16 hits this season, but seven of those are long balls. The first baseman is slashing .242/.333/.576 this season.

  • Giants' Wilmer Flores: Hits solo home run in win

Flores went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and an additional run scored in Saturday's 7-4 win over the Mets.

Flores' third home run of the season extended the Giants' lead to 7-2 in the fifth inning. He's currently batting .295 and has seven RBI across 17 games (65 plate appearances).
