Padlo is starting at first base and batting sixth Tuesday versus the Dodgers.

Padlo will draw his first start after being called up from Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday. The right-hander will replace lefty Jared Walsh in the lineup as the Angels square off with southpaw Clayton Kershaw. Padlo has produced a .273 average with seven homers, 24 RBI, 23 runs scored and six stolen bases over 110 at-bats in 32 contests with Salt Lake in 2023.

Mountcastle (illness) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment Tuesday with Triple-A Norfolk, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Mountcastle is symptom-free following a bout of vertigo and could be ready to return to the Orioles' active roster by the end of the week. Baltimore might opt to ease him back into action, though, with Ryan O'Hearn showing so well at first base. Mountcastle has slashed just .227/.264/.422 through 60 major-league games this year but he's managed to tally 11 home runs and 39 RBI.

Lowe batted fifth and went 1-for-3 with two walks in Monday's 5-2 win over the White Sox.

Texas manager Bruce Bochy tweaked the lineup Monday, swapping Lowe and Josh Jung in the order. The manager told Kennedi Landry of MLB.com that he wanted to break up two consecutive lefties -- Corey Seager in the two hole with Lowe behind him -- when facing a southpaw. The move worked out well Monday against Chicago's Tanner Banks. Bochy said he'll consider using the same lineup against southpaws going forward, while the lineup against righties will remain intact. That sounds like it was just an experiment Monday and not yet a permanent shift.

Casas went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored Monday in a 9-3 victory versus the Twins.

Casas gave Boston some extra breathing room with his two-run shot to right field in the seventh inning that made the score 8-3. It was just his second long ball over his past 27 contests, though he's been hitting well of late. Casas is in the midst of a modest five-game hitting streak during which he's batting .412 (7-for-17) with three extra-base hits, five RBI and a 4:3 BB:K.

Votto (shoulder/biceps) went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI and a walk in Monday's 5-4 win over the Rockies.

Votto made his season debut Monday after multiple surgeries and wasted no time making an impact, drilling a solo shot in the fifth inning and later adding a two-run single. He struggled with a .173/.340/.333 slash line in 22 rehab games with Triple-A Louisville prior to his MLB return. Between that, his .689 OPS in 2022 and the Reds suddenly looking like a playoff contender, it's unclear what Votto's role will be in the immediate future.

The Angels selected Padlo's contract from Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.

The 26-year-old third baseman has put together an impressive campaign in Triple-A, slashing .273/.396/.555 with seven homers and 24 RBI through 134 plate appearances. He'll serve as the roster replacement for Anthony Rendon (wrist), who landed on the injured list Monday. Despite his gaudy Triple-A statline, Padlo will likely come off the bench while with the Angels.

Votto (shoulder/biceps) was activated from the 60-day injured list Monday and will start at first base and bat sixth in the Reds' series opener versus the Rockies, Charlie Goldsmith of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Votto had some starts and stops as he worked his way back from left shoulder and biceps surgery, but he said Monday that he feels "much more like myself." The 39-year-old slashed .162/.385/.351 with two home runs and an 11:13 K:BB over 12 games during his most recent rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville. Since he's returning from a long-term absence, Votto will likely receive plenty of days off in the early going as the Reds ease him back into the mix while also juggle a batting order which is suddenly teeming with appealing options. Fantasy managers in shallower leagues should take a wait-and-see approach before adding Votto off the waiver wire.

Hall (thumb) was reinstated from the 60-day injured list and optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Monday.

Hall will return to the 40-man roster for the first time since he suffered a torn ligament in his right thumb in early April. The 27-year-old went 13-for-51 with six extra-base hits, including two homers, and 10 RBI over 13 games with Triple-A Lehigh Valley during his rehab assignment and he'll look to remain hot moving forward. Over 42 games with the Phillies in 2022, Hall produced a .250 average with nine homers, 16 RBI and 19 runs scored. With Bryce Harper holding down the designated hitter role in 2023, if Hall were to get called up, he'd likely operate in a platoon with Kody Clemens at first base. In a corresponding move, Dalton Guthrie was designated for assignment Monday.

Gurriel went 2-for-5 with his fourth stolen base of the season in Sunday's win over the Nationals.

The 39-year-old has alternated starts at first base with Garrett Cooper over the last week, although the latter also rotates in at DH when he isn't playing defense. Gurriel isn't exactly earning the extra opportunities, however, slashing just .222/.239/.333 through 12 games in June with zero homers and only two RBI. His value to the Marlins primarily comes from helping to keep Cooper rested and healthy, but that doesn't translate into fantasy utility.

Alonso went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals.

Making an early return from a bone bruise in his wrist he'd suffered July 7 after getting hit by a pitch, Alonso was back at first base and hitting cleanup but didn't appear to be quite 100 percent, as he also committed a fielding error in the seventh inning. Per Tim Britton of The Athletic, Alonso's early return -- the original timeline called for him to miss 3-4 weeks -- was mainly due to his ability to tolerate the pain, and the 28-year-old did claim he'd been able to swing a bat without discomfort for a couple days prior to his activation. Given his massive upside, most fantasy GMs won't have the luxury of keeping Alonso on their bench until he proves he's fully recovered, but he may need a little time to regain his power stroke.
