  • Josh Naylor 1B | SEA

Guardians' Josh Naylor: Remains out of lineup

Naylor (back) isn't starting Wednesday against the Tigers.

Naylor continues to deal with a back injury and will be held out of the lineup for a third consecutive game. Owen Miller is starting at first base and batting fifth.

  • Garrett Cooper 1B | ATL

Marlins' Garrett Cooper: Socks sixth homer

Cooper went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Angels.

He took Noah Syndergaard deep in the third inning for the game's first run. Cooper has been locked in since the beginning of June, slashing .368/.414/.538 over 27 games with three of his six homers on the season, nine doubles, 11 runs and 18 RBI.

  • Nate Lowe 1B | CIN

Rangers' Nathaniel Lowe: Clubs three-run homer

Lowe went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run, two walks and an additional run scored during Tuesday's 10-9 loss to the Orioles in 10 innings.

Lowe tied the game 7-7 during the eighth inning with a 437-foot, three-run shot to right center, though Baltimore quickly regained the lead in the bottom of the frame. The 26-year-old reached base four times for the first time this year, and it was also his second game with multiple walks. Lowe is 6-for-18 with two home runs, five RBI and three runs through five games in July.

  • Alex Kirilloff LF | MIN

Twins' Alex Kirilloff: Clubs two homers

Kirilloff went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, a solo home run and an additional run scored in an 8-2 win against the White Sox on Tuesday.

Kirilloff powered Minnesota with a single and a run in the fourth, a solo shot in the fifth and a two-run homer in the seventh. The 24-year-old has been heating up of late with four multi-hit outings in his last nine, and he is 12-for-32 with two doubles and three home runs in that span.

  • LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW

Giants' LaMonte Wade: Not starting against southpaw

Wade is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Wade rejoined the lineup Monday after missing one game with a sore elbow, but he'll take a seat Tuesday with lefty Tyler Gilbert pitching for Arizona. Darin Ruf will start in left field, pushing Joc Pederson to right.

  • Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Receives rare day off

Guerrero is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game at Oakland.

Guerrero started the past 34 games and will step out of the lineup Tuesday for only the third time all season. He's riding a five-game hit streak during which he's gone 7-for-22 with a home run, three doubles, seven RBI and seven runs. It's likely just a maintenance day for the young slugger. Cavan Biggio will shift to first base while Santiago Espinal starts at the keystone.

  • Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY

Yankees' Anthony Rizzo: Scratched with back stiffness

Rizzo was scratched from Tuesday's lineup against the Pirates due to lower-back stiffness, Kristie Ackert of the New York Daily News reports.

Rizzo was penciled in to start at first base, per usual, but the back issue will result in him sitting out at least one game. DJ LeMahieu will shift to first base and Gleyber Torres will move to the keystone while Matt Carpenter enters the lineup as the designated hitter.

  • Josh Naylor 1B | SEA

Guardians' Josh Naylor: Sitting out Tuesday

Naylor (back) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Twins.

Naylor's back injury will keep him on the bench for the second game in a row after he previously sat out the second half of Monday's doubleheader. His absence will allow Owen Miller to pick up a start at first base.

  • Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Out due to sinus issue

Mountcastle is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rangers due to a sinus issue, Dan Connolly of The Athletic reports.

Mountcastle's ailment doesn't sound like a major concern, as the Orioles are likely just erring on the side of caution by withholding him from the lineup while he's under the weather. Adley Rutschman will serve as Baltimore's designated hitter while Mountcastle takes a seat, opening up a starting role behind the plate for No. 2 backstop Robinson Chirinos.

  • Dominic Smith 1B | ATL

Mets' Dominic Smith: Sits versus lefty

Smith is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Reds.

The lefty-hitting Smith will give way to the righty-hitting J.D. Davis at designated hitter with lefty Nick Lodolo on the hill for Cincinnati. Smith went 3-for-8 with a pair of doubles and two RBI while starting in both of the past two contests, when the Mets opposed right-handed starting pitchers on both occasions. The 27-year-old may be trending toward earning a strong-side platoon role over infielder Luis Guillorme, who brings defensive value but is in a 2-for-26 slump at the plate over his past eight games.
