  • LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW

Giants' LaMonte Wade: On bench against southpaw

Wade isn't starting Game 2 of the NLDS against the Dodgers on Saturday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Wade went hitless with a strikeout in three at-bats during Game 1, and he'll get a breather with lefty Julio Urias on the mound for the Dodgers. Austin Slater will start in right field and bat third.

  • Rowdy Tellez 1B | ATL

Brewers' Rowdy Tellez: Gets breather for Game 2

Tellez isn't starting Game 2 of the NLDS against Atlanta on Saturday.

Tellez blasted a two-run homer in Friday's 2-1 win over Atlanta, but he'll be out of the lineup for the second game of the series with left-hander Max Fried on the mound. Eduardo Escobar will shift to first base while Luis Urias starts at the hot corner.

  • Rowdy Tellez 1B | ATL

Brewers' Rowdy Tellez: Propels Brewers to Game 1 win

Tellez went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and a strikeout in Friday's 2-1 win over Atlanta in Game 1 of the NLDS.

Tellez returned from a strained right patella for the final two games of the regular season and went 2-for-6 with two doubles, two runs, an RBI, a walk and a strikeout. Neither team generated much offensive production in Friday's pitching duel, but the 26-year-old put Milwaukee on the board with his home run to center field in the bottom of the seventh inning. He should be the favorite for playing time at first base during the postseason.

  • Bobby Dalbec 1B | CHW

Red Sox's Bobby Dalbec: Retreats to bench

Dalbec isn't starting Game 2 of the ALDS against the Rays on Friday, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

Dalbec will get a breather after he went hitless in four at-bats during Friday's Game 1 loss. Kyle Schwarber will start at first base while Christian Arroyo enters the lineup at the keystone.

  • Luke Raley RF | SEA

Dodgers' Luke Raley: Absent from NLDS roster

Raley was not included on the Dodgers' roster for the NLDS, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

The 27-year-old was on the roster for the NL Wild Card Game against the Cardinals and struck out as a pinch hitter. The Dodgers went heavy on bench bats for the one-game playoff, and Raley and Zach McKinstry are the odd men out for the NLDS with David Price and Walker Buehler on the roster.

  • Jose Abreu 1B | HOU

White Sox's Jose Abreu: Starting Game 1

Abreu (illness) is starting Game 1 of the ALDS against the Astros on Thursday, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Abreu was sidelined for Sunday's regular-season finale after he experienced flu-like symptoms, but he went through warmups ahead of Thursday's game and was deemed ready to play. He'll serve as the designated hitter and bat third in Game 1.

  • Matt Beaty 1B | KC

Dodgers' Matt Beaty: Starting at first base

Beaty is starting Wednesday's NL Wild Card Game against the Cardinals, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Beaty served mainly as a depth option during the 2021 campaign, but he'll join the starting nine in Wednesday's postseason matchup with Max Muncy (elbow) unavailable. The 28-year-old went 6-for-17 with two home runs, six RBI and four runs after he was recalled in early September.

  • Jose Abreu 1B | HOU

White Sox's Jose Abreu: Makes trip to Houston

Abreu (illness) joined the White Sox in Houston ahead of the team's American League Divisional Series with the Astros, but he's uncertain to start in Game 1 on Thursday, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

Abreu was withheld from the lineup in Sunday's regular-season finale against the Tigers after experiencing flu-like symptoms, and the White Sox have relayed that multiple follow-up tests have determined the star first baseman isn't COVID-19 positive. While the 34-year-old's condition has seemingly improved since the weekend, the White Sox have yet to decide whether he'll be available for Game 1. On a positive note, Abreu doesn't look like he's in any real danger of missing out on a spot on the White Sox's ALDS roster.

  • Luke Raley RF | SEA

Dodgers' Luke Raley: Added to wild-card roster

Raley was added to the roster for Wednesday's NL Wild Card Game against the Cardinals.

Raley spent most of the year at Triple-A Oklahoma City but will join the active roster for Wednesday's postseason game. He slashed .294/.393/.570 with 19 home runs, 69 RBI, 60 runs and eight stolen bases across 72 minor-league appearances this year and will likely be available off the bench against St. Louis.

  • Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY

Yankees' Anthony Rizzo: Homers in AL Wild Card Game

Rizzo went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and two strikeouts in Tuesday's 6-2 loss to the Red Sox in the AL Wild Card Game.

Rizzo brought Tuesday's winner-take-all game within two runs with his homer in the sixth inning, but the rest of the team was unable to generate enough offensive production to spark a comeback. The 32-year-old appeared in 141 games with the Cubs and Yankees this year, and he slashed .248/.344/.440 with 22 homers, 61 RBI and six stolen bases. He's slated to become a free agent this winter.
