Astros second baseman Jose Altuve went 3 for 5 with two stolen bases in his team's 6-4 win over the Tigers Sunday.

It was the fourth straight game in which Altuve swiped two bases and the sixth straight in which he recorded at least one steal. He also has four straight multihit efforts as he attempts to put together a darkhorse MVP candidacy. Altuve has hit .347/.386/.452 with two home runs, 26 RBI and 36 stolen bases in 334 at-bats.

The number of RBI that Rays second baseman Logan Forsythe had in June heading into Saturday could be found in the middle of a donut. But Forsythe not only drove in two to help his team beat Baltimore, he managed his second three-hit performance in the last four games.

Forsythe began his big day with a two-run homer in the second inning and added two singles. He has 12 hits in his last eight games and has raised his average to .229, its highest point since April 2.

Astros second baseman Jose Altuve went 1 for 3 with a walk and an RBI on Sunday, extending his hitting streak to six games and giving him a major league-best 103 hits. Altuve has hit safely in 36 of his past 40 games and is batting .336 with two homers, 25 RBI, 36 runs scored and 26 steals.

White Sox infielder Marcus Semien continues to get work in the outfield following his demotion to Triple-A Charlotte in early June, per MLB.com.

"He's going to really dictate how comfortable he is and how we see how comfortable he becomes," White Sox assistant general manager Buddy Bell said of Semien. "He's going to be fine. If you bring him up now, we could put him out there. I don't think you want to put him out there every day by any means, but I think he's capable of making all the plays. He's capable of keeping the ball in front of him.

"Whether that means he's got to play a little deeper than most -- but I think he's more than capable. Part of the problem is he's dealing with the fence, balls over his head and things like that that he never had to deal with before."

White Sox second baseman Gordon Beckham hit a two-run homer in Tuesday's 8-2 win over the Giants, giving him five homers and 17 RBI this season. It was the only hit of the game for Beckham, who's batting .283/.332/.424.

Astros second baseman Jose Altuve returned to the lineup Tuesday against the Nationals after being unable to start three straight games due to a hand injury. Altuve came on as a pinch-hitter Sunday, grounding out.

He's batting .318/.359/.428 in 283 at-bats.

Yankees infielder Yangervis Solarte is having trouble snapping out of a hitting slump, as his struggles have extended a month. Since May 15, Solarte is batting .200 over his last 28 games, which has dropped his average from .336 to .274.

Solarte has just two home runs, five RBI, four doubles, seven walks, nine runs and 13 strikeouts in his last 28 games. He had four home runs, 10 doubles, 23 RBI, 17 runs, 17 walks and 16 strikeouts in his first 34 games.

Astros manager Bo Porter said he expects second baseman Jose Altuve (hand) to return to the lineup Tuesday at Washington after the team's day off Monday. Altuve is hitting .319 with two homers, 22 RBI, 33 runs scored and 24 steals.
