Ezequiel Duran SS | TEX
Rangers' Ezequiel Duran: Receiving rare night off
Duran is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Twins.
The Rangers will give Duran a much-overdue breather for the series opener, after the 27-year-old made 41 consecutive starts across six different positions dating back to April 29. Even if Corey Seager (ribs/jaw) is able to avoid a stint on the injured list and if Josh Smith (illness) is activated from the IL later this week, Duran should still have a pathway to a near-everyday role due to his ability to play all over the infield and outfield. Duran has been one of the Rangers' top hitters this season, with his .760 OPS placing him third among the 12 players on the team that have logged 100 plate appearances.

Michael Massey 2B | KC
Royals' Michael Massey: Heading to bench against lefty
Massey is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Nationals.
The Royals will send the left-handed-hitting Massey to the bench while southpaw Andrew Alvarez takes the hill for Washington. Nick Loftin will step in at second base in place of Massey, who went 4-for-15 with two doubles, three RBI and three runs while starting the past four games.

Jazz Chisholm 2B | NYY
Yankees' Jazz Chisholm: Moves up to 20 thefts
Chisholm drew three walks, scored one run and stole two bases over three plate appearances in Sunday's 8-3 victory versus the Blue Jays.
Chisholm didn't start the contest, but he entered as a pinch hitter for Amed Rosario in the sixth inning. Chisholm took a walk and subsequently stole second base, though he was ultimately caught in a rundown between third and home following a groundball. The speedy infielder walked in each of his other two plate appearances, and he followed one of those free passes with another steal. Chisholm is up to 20 thefts on the season, marking the fourth straight year he's reached that milestone. He ranks fifth in the majors in that category while adding nine homers, 29 RBI, 35 runs and a .229/.318/.400 slash line through 274 plate appearances.

Justin Foscue 2B | TEX
Rangers' Justin Foscue: Joins lineup again
Foscue started at second base and went 3-for-3 with a run scored in Sunday's 6-4 win over Boston.
After a period of limited activity, Foscue found himself in the starting lineup for a second consecutive game. Ezequiel Duran has been the primary second baseman, but he was needed at shortstop to cover for the injured Corey Seager (ribs/jaw), who has been sidelined for three straight games and is dealing with concussion symptoms. Both of Foscue's starts have come against lefties, and he is expected to be replaced by Nicky Lopez against right-handers.

Vaughn Grissom 1B | LAA
Angels' Vaughn Grissom: Kicks off rehab assignment
Grissom (oblique) began a rehab assignment with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Sunday, going 2-for-5 with and RBI and a run scored.
Grissom just went on the 10-day injured list one week ago with a left oblique strain, so it's been a quick turnaround for the 25-year-old. He's eligible for activation Monday, and Grissom could be ready to rejoin the Angels' active roster for their road trip which begins Monday in Arizona.

Nicky Lopez 2B | TEX
Rangers' Nicky Lopez: Sitting after four straight starts
Lopez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.
Though Corey Seager (ribs/jaw) will be left out of the starting nine for a third straight game, the left-handed-hitting Lopez will head to the bench while the Red Sox send a lefty (Connelly Early) to the hill. Lopez had started in each of the last four games, and he could have a path to seeing at least semi-regular work even if Seager avoids a stint on the injured list. Texas already moved Evan Carter (oblique) to the IL on Saturday, which could free up more reps at second base for Lopez if super-utility man Ezequiel Duran ends up seeing more time in the outfield in the short term. Since signing with Texas on May 27, Lopez is slashing .317/.364/.415 with one home run, one steal, five RBI and four runs in 13 games.

Oswald Peraza 2B | LAA
Angels' Oswald Peraza: Sitting after four straight starts
Peraza is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Peraza will hit the bench for the series finale after he went 3-for-17 with a double, two steals, three RBI and a run while starting in each of the last four games. Nick Madrigal will fill in at the keystone in place of a resting Peraza.
-
Ben Williamson 2B | TB
Rays' Ben Williamson: Filling in for Walls on Sunday
Williamson will start at shortstop and bat seventh in Sunday's game against the Angels.
Williamson will draw his fifth start in six games, this time filling in for a resting Taylor Walls at shortstop. Each of Williamson's previous four starts came against left-handed pitching, and he still appears to be occupying the short side of a platoon with Richie Palacios at second base.
-
Jose Altuve 2B | HOU
Astros' Jose Altuve: Resting up Sunday
Altuve is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.
Altuve will be rested for a second straight Sunday in what's presumably part of a load management plan following his return from an oblique strain. Brice Matthews will cover second base and bat seventh in the series finale.

Jazz Chisholm 2B | NYY
Yankees' Jazz Chisholm: Taking seat Sunday
Chisholm is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.
The Yankees will go with a right-handed-heavy lineup to counter southpaw Patrick Corbin in the series finale. Jose Caballero will get the nod at second base while Chisholm retreats to the bench along with fellow left-handed hitters J.C. Escarra, Ryan McMahon and Spencer Jones.
