Royals' Adam Frazier: Scratched Sunday with thumb sprain

Frazier was scratched from Sunday's lineup against the Rangers due to a right thumb sprain, Joel Goldberg of Bally Sports Kansas City reports.

Frazier was slated to serve as the designated hitter and bat from the leadoff spot Sunday, but Nelson Velazquez will step in as the DH instead. Frazier sustained a right thumb sprain after colliding with Garrett Hampson in the outfield in Saturday's 6-0 loss to the Rangers. Frazier is slashing .226/.273/.419 with one solo home run across 31 at-bats in June.

  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

    Rays' Brandon Lowe: Sitting Sunday

Lowe (toe) is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Lowe will sit for the series finale Sunday after sustaining a broken pinky toe on a hit-by-pitch in the first inning of Saturday's 4-3 loss to Pittsburgh. Lowe isn't expected to be placed on the IL and will be available to pinch hit Sunday, per Topkin. Richie Palacios will start at second base Sunday and bat fifth against Pirates right-hander Paul Skenes.

  • Blue Jays' Orelvis Martinez: Suspended 80 games for PED use

Major League Baseball announced Sunday that Martinez has been suspended for 80 games for violating the league's drug prevention and treatment program, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Two days after making his major-league debut against the Guardians, Martinez was dealt the 80-game ban for testing positive for clomiphene, a fertility drug on the league's banned substance list. In a statement following Martinez's suspension, Toronto general manager Ross Atkins fully supported the league's suspension of the 22-year-old prospect and said that the Blue Jays "will do everything in our power to ensure [Martinez] has learned from this mistake," per Davidi. The suspension will keep Martinez out of action until the tail end of the season, with a possible return date of Sept. 23 lining up with the start of the Blue Jays' penultimate series of the season against the Red Sox.

  • Andres Gimenez 2B | TOR

Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Picks up steal Saturday

Gimenez went 1-for-2 with a walk, a hit-by-pitch, a stolen base and a run scored in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Blue Jays.

Gimenez has been running well recently, picking up four steals over his last 10 games, but he's hit just .179 (7-for-39) with two walks in that span. The second baseman is up to 13 steals on 16 attempts this year. He's added a .255/.311/.353 slash line with five home runs, 37 RBI, 39 runs scored, 10 doubles and a triple over 303 plate appearances. Gimenez's playing time remains steady, but a significant drop in power and a slight decline in speed have hurt his fantasy utility.

  • Nicky Lopez 3B | COL

White Sox's Nicky Lopez: Busy day in win

Lopez went 3-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base in a 5-1 win over the Tigers on Saturday.

Lopez singled in the third inning then hit an RBI double in the fourth to give the White Sox a 2-0 lead. In the sixth frame, he singled, stole second and came around to score on a single by Lenyn Sosa. Lopez entered the contest just 10-for-50 in June. The second baseman is now hitting .239 with six RBI and three steals over 209 at-bats this season.

  • Angels' Brandon Drury: Idle Saturday

Drury (illness) is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Dodgers.

Drury had been scratched from the starting lineup on back-to-back nights, but he won't be listed as a starter for Saturday's series finale due to illness. He'll have a team day off Sunday to recover before Monday's matchup with Oakland. Luis Guillorme will play second base and bat ninth Saturday.

  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

Rays' Brandon Lowe: Suffers broken toe

Lowe suffered a broken pinky toe during Saturday's game against the Pirates, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Lowe was hit by a pitch in the first inning of the contest and was removed in the sixth frame with what was initially deemed a right foot contusion. However, further evaluation showed that Lowe actually sustained a broken toe. Per Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times, Lowe isn't expected to require an IL stint at this point.

  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

Rays' Brandon Lowe: Has bruised right foot

Lowe was removed from Saturday's game against the Pirates with a right foot contusion, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Isaac Paredes came in for Lowe in the sixth inning after Lowe sustained a right foot injury stemming from a first-inning hit-by-pitch. While the injury seems relatively minor, Lowe should continue to be evaluated ahead of Sunday's series finale.

  • Jorge Mateo SS | ATL

Orioles' Jorge Mateo: Not starting Saturday

Mateo is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Astros.

Mateo will begin Saturday's game in the dugout after going 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 14-11 loss to Houston. Jordan Westburg and Ramon Urias will man second and third base, respectively, against Astros right-hander Ronel Blanco.

  • Gleyber Torres 2B | DET

Yankees' Gleyber Torres: Back in lineup Saturday

Torres (groin) is starting at second base and batting seventh Saturday against Atlanta.

For the month of June, Torres is slashing .194/.268/.387 with three home runs and 12 RBI over 62 at-bats.
