Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Homers in win
Gimenez went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Mariners.
Gimenez entered the contest 0-for-13 over his last three games. The homer was his first since May 22, and it was his first extra-base hit since June 8. The second baseman is at a .257/.310/.357 slash line with five homers, 12 stolen bases, 37 RBI and 37 runs scored through 67 games this season.

Gleyber Torres 2B | DET
Yankees' Gleyber Torres: Exits as precaution
Torres (groin) did not suffer a serious injury Thursday against the Orioles, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
Torres was removed in the sixth inning, though manager Aaron Boone noted that he was taking a cautious approach and that the issue isn't expected to be serious. Nevertheless, it will be worth confirming that Torres will be available Friday as the Yankees start a series against Atlanta.

Gleyber Torres 2B | DET
Yankees' Gleyber Torres: Leaves game early
Torres left in the sixth inning of Thursday's game versus the Orioles due to tightness in his right groin.
Prior to leaving the game, Torres hit a solo home run in the second inning and then later flied out in the fourth. Ben Rice was substituted into the game at first base for Torres, who started at second. Oswaldo Cabrera shifted over from third to second base.

Justin Foscue 1B | TEX
Rangers' Justin Foscue: Moves rehab to Triple-A
Foscue (oblique) was transferred to Triple-A Round Rock on Thursday to continue his rehab assignment.
Foscue went 7-for-17 with one home run in six games with the Rangers' Arizona Complex League affiliate after missing two months with a left oblique strain. He could be ready for activation soon, but Foscue isn't a given to rejoin the major-league roster at that time.

Jorge Mateo SS | ATL
Orioles' Jorge Mateo: Absent from lineup
Mateo is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest against the Yankees.
Mateo had a couple hits and a run scored in Wednesday's extra-inning victory over the Yankees, but he'll nonetheless begin Thursday's festivities on the bench. Jordan Westburg is at second base and Ramon Urias will play third.

Jorge Polanco 1B | NYM
Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Full game at DH
Polanco (hamstring) took a full game's worth of plate appearances as the designated hitter in Triple-A Tacoma's win over Las Vegas on Wednesday, going 1-for-4 with a walk and a run.
Polanco's ability to play in back-to-back games for the second time in his rehab assignment appears to bode well for his chances of imminent activation. The veteran infielder already logged seven innings on defense Tuesday, so there may be nothing left to prove for Polanco in terms of the fitness of his previously ailing hamstring.

Zack Gelof 2B | ATH
Athletics' Zack Gelof: Homers again in win
Gelof went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Royals.
Gelof has homered in back-to-back games and has hit four of his seven long balls this year in June. The second baseman has gone 8-for-29 (.276) over his last eight contests. For the season, he's at a .196/.250/.348 slash line with 19 RBI, 21 runs scored and eight stolen bases, though hitting at or near the bottom of a weak lineup is unlikely to do any favors for his counting stats.

Enmanuel Valdez 2B | PIT
Red Sox's Enmanuel Valdez: Homers, scores three times in win
Valdez went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and three runs scored in a 7-3 win over the Blue Jays on Wednesday.
Valdez hit a solo home run off Kevin Gausman in the fourth inning, walked and scored in the sixth then singled and scored in the eighth. Valdez has been hot in June, hitting .341 with 10 extra-base hits and 14 RBI in 44 at-bats. He rarely plays against left-handed pitchers, going 0-for-20 against them on the season, but he is hitting a respectable .252 with six homers and 25 RBI in 115 at-bats against righties.

Brandon Drury 2B | KC
Angels' Brandon Drury: Scratched with illness
Drury was scratched from the Angels' lineup ahead of Wednesday's game versus Milwaukee due to an illness, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.
Drury has gone 1-for-6 with a walk since returning from the injured list Monday, but he'll be sidelined once again Wednesday as he fights off an illness. Luis Guillorme will instead start at the keystone and bat ninth versus right-hander Freddy Peralta.

Jorge Polanco 1B | NYM
Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Productive third rehab game
Polanco (hamstring) shifted his rehab assignment to Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday, playing seven innings at second base and going 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and a run in a loss to Las Vegas.
It was a feel-good night all around for Polanco within the context of his recovery, as he handled the bump up in affiliate from High-A Everett well and logged his longest time on the field yet over his first three minor-league games. The veteran infielder is likely due for at least one more outing with the Rainiers before activation is considered, and in addition to the apparently improved condition of his previously ailing hamstring, it's encouraging Polanco has reached safely in all three rehab games thus far.
