  • David Hamilton SS | MIL

Red Sox's David Hamilton: Belts home run in loss

Hamilton went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and two runs scored in Tuesday's extra-innings loss to Detroit.

Hamilton singled and scored in the fifth inning and came up clutch with a game-tying, two-run shot in the eighth to force extra innings. It was his second home run of the year and first since April 16. Hamilton has posted a .981 OPS with three multi-hit performances over his last seven games. Despite the recent hot streak, Hamilton owns a .579 OPS with just three extra-base hits through 58 plate appearances this season.

  • Coco Montes 2B | TB

Rays' Coco Montes: Recalled from Triple-A

Montes was recalled from Triple-A Durham on Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Yandy Diaz was placed on the restricted list in a corresponding move, and the Rays are already undermanned, so Montes could get some playing time in the short term. The 28-year-old utility player slashed .279/.340/.384 with one home run, three steals and a 23.4 percent strikeout rate in 22 games at Triple-A.

  • Dameury Pena 2B | MIN

Twins' Dameury Pena: Healthy at Single-A

Single-A Fort Myers activated Pena (undisclosed) from the 7-day injured list May 6.

The undersized second baseman missed a little over two weeks with the undisclosed injury and has hit .417 with one double, one strikeout and one caught stealing in four games since getting activated. On the season, Pena is hitting .308 with one home run, two steals, a 7.0 percent strikeout rate and a 2.3 percent walk rate in 43 plate appearances. Pena has hit 52.8 percent of balls on the ground and 45.9 percent to the opposite field, which is a recipe for a high batting average and minimal power.

  • Kyle DeBarge 2B | MIN

Twins' Kyle DeBarge: Suffers wrist injury

DeBarge did not suffer a serious injury after getting hit by a pitch in the wrist and should be able to return this week, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports. He hasn't played for High-A Cedar Rapids since suffering the injury Thursday.

DeBarge is having a potential breakout season at High-A by hitting .279/.409/.468 with four home runs and 16 stolen bases in 28 games. Hopefully this injury won't be a significant setback.

  • Guardians' Daniel Schneemann: Starter at second base

Schneemann started at second base and went 0-for-3 in Monday's 5-0 win over the Brewers.

Schneemann's hot bat since the beginning of May generated more plate appearances for him, and shortstop Brayan Rocchio's demotion to the minors Monday opened up a regular gig. Gabriel Arias will cover short, while Schneemann gets regular starts at second base. Since May 1, Schneemann has a 1.101 OPS with three home runs, two doubles, eight RBI and eight runs scored over 10 contests.

  • Royals' Michael Massey: Pops second homer

Massey went 1-for-4 with a solo homer, a walk and an additional run scored in Monday's 7-5 win against the Astros.

The Kansas City second baseman took Houston starter Ryan Gusto deep in the second inning to open the game's scoring. Massey has finally shown signs of life over his last 10 games, batting .275 (11-for-40) with two homers, four RBI and three runs scored. Across 146 total plate appearances, the 27-year-old is slashing .213/.234/.294 with 13 RBI and 8 runs scored.

  • Gabriel Arias SS | CLE

Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Drives in three runs

Arias went 2-for-4 with a three-run double in Monday's win over the Brewers.

Arias opened the game's scoring with a bases-clearing double in the fourth inning. He has multiple hits in four of his last 12 games but has gone hitless in the other eight. Despite the recent inconsistency, Arias owns a solid .271/.324/.426 slash line with 12 extra-base hits and 19 RBI through 39 contests.

  • Gleyber Torres 2B | DET

Tigers' Gleyber Torres: Pops homer in win

Torres went 3-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, two runs scored and a walk in Monday's win over Boston.

Torres set the tone for Detroit's 14-run outburst with his two-run shot in the first inning. He later knocked an RBI single and came around to score in the third. Torres has collected multiple hits in five of his last 14 games, going 18-for-51 (.352) during that span. He's slashing .304/.375/.482 with 10 extra-base hits and 24 RBI through 29 games this season.

  • Astros' Brendan Rodgers: Not starting Monday

Rodgers is not in the Astros' starting lineup against the Royals on Monday.

Rodgers will be on the bench to begin Monday's game while Jose Altuve starts at second base and bats second. Rodgers has reached base safely in nine straight games, but over that span he has slashed just .229/.270/.343 with six runs, one home run, three RBI and a 37.8 percent strikeout rate.

  • Jorbit Vivas 2B | NYY

    Yankees' Jorbit Vivas: Sitting Monday

Vivas is not in the Yankees' starting lineup against the Mariners on Monday.

Vivas will begin Monday's game on the bench while Oswald Peraza starts at second base and bats ninth. Since being recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on May 2, Vivas has gone 3-for-19 with three runs scored, three RBI and a 30.4 percent strikeout rate. He'll likely see his playing time diminish once DJ LeMahieu (calf) -- who is with the Yankees in Seattle -- returns from the 10-day injured list.
