Nolan Gorman 2B | STL
Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Hits three-run homer in win
Gorman went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run, two walks and an additional run scored in Saturday's 8-5 win over the Brewers.
Gorman crushed a 433-foot homer off Jose Quintana to give the Cardinals a 7-1 lead in the fifth inning. He has been swinging a hot bat in June, going 9-for-28 with three home runs, eight RBI and five runs scored over 11 games. The 25-year-old is slashing .220/.317/.398 with four long balls, 17 RBI and 17 runs scored across just 139 plate appearances this season. He could be at risk of returning to the bench with Brendan Donovan (toe) expected back Sunday but has certainly made a strong case for continued playing time with his recent performance.

Brendan Donovan 2B | SEA
Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Expected back Sunday
Donovan (toe) expects to return to the lineup Sunday versus the Brewers, John Denton of MLB.com reports.
Donovan took batting practice and fielded ground balls Saturday and was pain-free afterward. He will wear a carbon-fiber orthotic in his shoe in the short term, but it appears that he will avoid a stint on the injured list after missing the past four games.

Tommy Edman 2B | LAD
Dodgers' Tommy Edman: Getting rest Saturday
Edman isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Giants.
Edman will get a day to rest after going 0-for-3 during a loss in Friday's series opener. Hyeseong Kim will fill in at the keystone and bat ninth.

Brendan Donovan 2B | SEA
Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Remaining out Saturday
Donovan (toe) isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Brewers.
Saturday marks Donovan's fourth consecutive absence from the starting lineup due to a sprained big toe on his left foot. The Cards are expected to decide Sunday whether he needs to spend time on the injured list, and until he returns, Nolan Gorman will continue to start at second base.

Adam Frazier 2B | LAA
Pirates' Adam Frazier: Taking over in left field
Frazier went 1-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base Friday against the Cubs.
Frazier looked to be the odd man out when Nick Gonzales returned to the lineup, but Frazier has since overtaken Alexander Canario and Tommy Pham for playing time in left field. He's started four of Pittsburgh's last five games at the position and gone 6-for-20 with three RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base in that span.

Brendan Donovan 2B | SEA
Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: IL decision likely coming Sunday
The Cardinals are likely to decide Sunday whether Donovan (toe) needs to go on the 10-day injured list, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Donovan has missed three straight games with a sprained left big toe and it sounds like he's a long shot to return to action Saturday. The Cardinals are willing to play a man short through the weekend if it means Donovan can avoid the IL and play Tuesday following Monday's off day, but an IL stint remains a possibility. Nolan Gorman will continue to fill in at second base while Donovan is shelved.

Brendan Donovan 2B | SEA
Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Still out of lineup
Donovan (toe) isn't part of the lineup for Friday's game against the Brewers.
Donovan is absent from the starting nine for a third straight game but appears to be making progress in his recovery from a sprained left big toe. The 28-year-old participated in a light pregame workout Thursday and was said to be feeling "a lot better." Nolan Gorman will bat seventh and play second base in place of Donovan. Per Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Donovan is pushing for a return this weekend, but the Cardinals are willing to give him until Tuesday before placing him on the injured list.

Brendan Donovan 2B | SEA
Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Goes through light workout
Donovan (toe) went through a light pregame workout Thursday and Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol indicated the second baseman "felt a lot better," Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Donovan exited Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays and didn't play Wednesday or Thursday due to a sprained left big toe. While he appears to be on the mend, the Cardinals do not plan to play shorthanded much longer. A decision on whether Donovan needs a stint on the 10-day injured list is expected to be made soon.

Tyler Fitzgerald CF | LAD
Giants' Tyler Fitzgerald: Records RBI in loss
Fitzgerald went 0-for-3 with an RBI in Thursday's 8-7 loss to the Rockies.
Fitzgerald hit a sacrifice fly in the second inning, giving him an RBI in back-to-back games for the first time since April 16-17. The 27-year-old infielder has struggled through 11 outings in June, batting .121 with two RBI, two runs scored, two stolen bases and a 4:10 BB:K across 40 plate appearances this month.

Jose Devers 2B | ATL
Braves' Jose Devers: Not yet retiring
Devers (undisclosed) did not retire as previously reported and plans to continue his playing career, Lindsay Crosby of AthlonSports.com reports.
A previous report suggested that Devers had retired, but that report apparently came about due to an error in translation. He will continue to rehab an undisclosed injury that has kept him from playing for Triple-A Gwinnett since June 1. The 25-year-old infielder has maintained a .276/.279/.431 slash line across 61 plate appearances with Gwinnett this season.
