Estrada (thumb) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.

Estrada suffered the thumb injury in Monday's loss to the Red Sox and will head into the All-Star break having sat out five straight games. The 29-year-old seemed to have avoided a serious injury when he had X-rays come back negative, so he should be good to go for the start of the second half Friday versus Minnesota.

Hoerner went 1-for-4 with a walk, a triple and a run scored in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Yankees.

For the second straight day, Hoerner batted leadoff, and he started the game with a triple before coming around to score. Chicago's regular leadoff hitter, Ian Happ, got the night off Friday and then slid down to seventh in the order Saturday. Happ is batting just .227 with a .324 on-base percentage, while Hoerner is hitting .286 with a .334 on-base percentage. It could just be a temporary change to get the slumping Happ going, but if Hoerner sticks atop the lineup, he could get a boost in fantasy value batting ahead of dangerous run producers Kyle Tucker, Seiya Suzuki and Pete Crow-Armstrong.

Saggese will go through pregame workouts and possibly see game action in the outfield, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Saggese has never played the outfield in pro ball, but increasing his versatility would give him another path to playing time, particularly with the Cardinals being left-handed heavy in the outfield. The 23-year-old has not yet found his swing at the big-league level, slashing just .241/.256/.342 in 26 contests. It seems likelier that Saggese's test drive in the outfield ultimately comes at Triple-A Memphis, once Ivan Herrera (hamstring) and Jordan Walker (appendix) return from the 10-day injured list.

Kim went 3-for-4 with a double, two stolen bases and one run scored in Friday's 8-7 loss to the Giants.

Kim delivered his first multi-hit effort since June 28 versus the Royals. The second baseman has picked up playing time at his natural position lately, with Tommy Edman shifting over to third base against right-handed pitchers to help cover the absences of Max Muncy (knee) and Enrique Hernandez (elbow). The left-handed-hitting Kim is at a .349/.389/.481 slash line with two home runs, 12 RBI, 17 runs scored and 11 steals across 113 plate appearances this season. Kim will likely continue to sit against left-handed pitchers, with Miguel Rojas entering the lineup at third and Edman at second in those matchups.

The 29-year-old will be on the bench Friday for a third straight game as he continues to nurse a jammed left thumb. Estrada already had X-rays come back negative, so he could be available at some point this weekend in Cincinnati for the final series before the All-Star break.

Albies went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 5-4 extra-innings loss to the Athletics.

Albies put an end to his 36-game homer drought when he took J.T. Ginn deep in the seventh inning. During that span, Albies batted just .188 and slugged a pathetic .233, logging four doubles and one triple with a 12:24 BB:K. The second baseman has struggled overall in 2025, slashing .221/.292/.320 with seven homers, 29 RBI, 38 runs scored, 12 doubles, one triple and seven stolen bases in 92 contests. The decline is a continuation of his 2024 performance, though Albies' prolonged poor hitting has yet to cost him the everyday role at the keystone, where he has maintained steady defense with just two errors this season.

Escobar was promoted from Single-A Clearwater to High-A Jersey Shore on Tuesday.

A bat-first second baseman from Venezuela, Escobar was one of the best hitters in the Florida Complex League in 2024 (171 wRC+) and his 131 wRC+ was the 10th best mark in the Florida State League prior to his promotion. Escobar is slashing .286/.376/.449 with 11 home runs, 10 steals, a 9.9 percent walk rate and a 16.1 percent strikeout rate through 70 games in his age-20 season.

McNeil is not in the lineup for the first game of Thursday's doubleheader in Baltimore.

McNeil should be back in the starting nine for the nightcap, but he'll begin Thursday's matinee on the bench. Tyrone Taylor will cover center field and Brett Baty will start at second base for the Mets in the first contest of the day.

The Mets recalled Acuna from Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday.

Acuna slashed .241/.293/.283 with 11 steals in 65 games for the Mets before being sent down to Triple-A last month. He will offer a bit more versatility than outfielder Travis Jankowski, who was designated for assignment to clear a spot on the 26-man active roster for Acuna. Even so, Acuna is unlikely to find himself in the lineup on a regular basis.

The Mets will recall Acuna from Triple-A Syracuse, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.

Presumably, Acuna will serve as the 27th man for Thursday's doubleheader in Baltimore. The utility infielder was sent down to Syracuse last month after slashing .241/.293/.283 with 11 steals in 65 contests.
