Phillies' Bryson Stott: Out against southpaw

Ketel Marte 2B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Back in lineup Saturday
Marte (ankle) is serving as the designated hitter and batting in the leadoff spot for Saturday's game against the Rays, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.
Marte has sat out Arizona's last three games after being diagnosed with a low-grade ankle sprain Tuesday. He'll return to the lineup Saturday and avoid fielding duties as he plays DH while Kevin Newman starts at second base.

Alika Williams SS | PIT
Pirates' Alika Williams: Summoned from Triple-A
The Pirates recalled Williams from Triple-A Indianapolis on Saturday.
Andrew McCutchen (knee) was placed on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. Williams has previously appeared in 25 games for the Pirates this season, producing a slash line of .210/.246/.290 with three RBI across 69 plate appearances. He'll likely serve as a depth piece in the infield behind Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Oneil Cruz and Ke'Bryan Hayes.

Xander Bogaerts SS | SD
Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Ends homer drought
Bogaerts went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 7-3 loss to the Rockies.
The long ball was Bogaerts' first since July 28. Over the 14 games in between homers, he went 14-for-56 (.250) with two doubles, five RBI and seven runs scored. The infielder is up to six homers, six stolen bases, 25 RBI, 38 runs scored, 11 doubles and a triple while slashing .267/.308/.373 over 73 contests this season.

Brendan Rodgers 2B | BOS
Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Goes yard in win
Rodgers went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Friday's 7-3 win over the Padres.
Rodgers' first-inning blast provided all the offense the Rockies needed for the win. He's been excellent in August, going 20-for-51 (.392) with three homers, 10 RBI and six doubles over 13 contests this month. The surge has him up to a .280/.325/.422 slash line with 10 homers, 44 RBI, 52 runs scored, 23 doubles and a stolen base through 104 contests as Colorado's starting second baseman.

Gavin Lux SS | TB
Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Knocks homer in win
Lux went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Friday's 7-6 win over the Cardinals.
Lux continues to be steady at the plate in August -- he's gone 15-for-46 (.326) over 14 contests this month. The second baseman has added some power with two homers and a double over his last four games. For the season, he's slashing .251/.311/.381 with eight homers, 43 RBI, 42 runs scored, four stolen bases, 16 doubles and two triples through 104 contests. Lux can be penciled in for an everyday role as long as he's hitting well.

Tommy Edman 2B | LAD
Dodgers' Tommy Edman: Aiming for season debut Monday
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said on MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM Friday that the hope is Edman (wrist/ankle) will be ready for activation from the 60-day injured list Monday.
Acquired from the Cardinals at the trade deadline, Edman has been out all season recovering from wrist surgery and more recently an ankle sprain, but his Dodgers debut is on the horizon. Edman is 5-for-15 with one home run and a 1:3 K:BB in five rehab games with Triple-A Oklahoma City. He's expected to see the bulk of his action in center field for the Dodgers, but Edman also made a start at shortstop at OKC this week and offers the versatility to play multiple spots if needed.

Ketel Marte 2B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Idle Friday
Marte (ankle) is absent from the starting nine for Friday's game against the Rays.
Marte was diagnosed with a low-grade ankle sprain Tuesday and will spend Friday's series opener on the bench. The second baseman hasn't started and finished a game since Aug. 8, but the Diamondbacks don't believe he will require an IL stint. Blaze Alexander will bat ninth and play the keystone Friday. Per Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona, Marte said Friday that he's feeling better and could be in the lineup Saturday.

Jose Iglesias SS | SD
Mets' Jose Iglesias: On base three times Thursday
Iglesias went 2-for-4 with a walk in Thursday's loss to the A's.
The veteran infielder got the start at second base and batted sixth, and he kept up the offensive production that has pushed him into a regular role. Even with Jeff McNeil turning things around at the plate, Iglesias has started eight of 13 games so far in August, batting .313 (10-for-32) with two doubles, three RBI and four runs. The lack of counting stats makes him tough to roster in shallower formats, however, and with Starling Marte (knee) potentially returning from the IL this weekend, Iglesias could find himself relegated to the short side of a platoon with McNeil at the keystone.

Brice Turang 2B | MIL
Brewers' Brice Turang: Swipes two bags Thursday
Turang went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, a run and two stolen bases in a 6-4 win over the Dodgers on Thursday.
Turang began the bottom of the first inning with a double and subsequently crossed the plate on Jackson Chourio's two-run homer. That wasn't the end of Turang's production, as he reached base two more times and stole a base in each instance. The second baseman began August in a 5-for-35 funk, but he's gone 3-for-5 with two walks and three thefts over his past two contests. His two swipes Thursday moved him back into second place in the majors with 36 steals on the campaign.
