  • Gavin Lux SS | TB

Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Sitting versus lefty

Lux isn't in the Dodgers' lineup Friday versus the Royals, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

With southpaw Cole Ragans on the mound for Kansas City, the lefty-hitting Lux will watch the beginning of Friday's contest from Los Angeles' dugout. Miguel Rojas will fill in at the keystone and bat eighth.

  • Cavan Biggio RF | HOU

Dodgers' Cavan Biggio: Making another start versus righty

Biggio is in the lineup at third base and batting eighth Thursday versus the Rangers.

Biggio is getting his second start at third base for the Dodgers after going 1-for-3 in his debut for the team Wednesday. Thursday's start comes with righty Michael Lorenzen on the mound for the Rangers. With Max Muncy (oblique) remaining on the injured list and Enrique Hernandez sitting for a second straight game, it appears Biggio will be the primary option at third versus right-handers.

  • Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Collects season-high four hits

Albies went 4-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI and two runs scored Thursday against the Orioles.

Albies' first-inning double set the stage for Atlanta to take an early lead, and his double in the ninth eventually led to a couple of insurance runs as a tight one-run lead turned into a three-run victory. Albies collected multiple hits for the 17th time this season, though it's just the second time he's had three or more in a game. His four-hit effort came on the heels of a seven-game stretch in which he had collected just four hits total, batting .143 over 28 at-bats during that span.

  • Alika Williams SS | PIT

Pirates' Alika Williams: Beginning rehab assignment

Williams (wrist) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Indianapolis on Thursday.

Williams has been absent for most of this month with a right wrist sprain but is feeling well enough to test himself in a game setting. He's eligible for activation from the 10-day injured list at any time and shouldn't need a lengthy rehab assignment, given his brief absence.

  • Nick Gonzales 2B | PIT

Pirates' Nick Gonzales: Getting day off

Gonzales is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game in St. Louis.

Gonzales looks to be getting a routine maintenance day after he had started in every game for the Pirates dating back to May 13. The second-year infielder recorded a double in both of the first two games of the series, giving him 12 extra-base hits through 119 plate appearances on the season. Jared Triolo will get the nod at second base Thursday while Gonzales rests.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Cracks homer in loss

Marte went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Wednesday's 8-3 loss to the Angels.

Marte connected on a two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning. It was his 14th homer in 66 games. The second baseman is in the midst of a hot streak, going 14-for-32 (.438) with four home runs, eight RBI and additional five runs over the last 10 contests.

  • Mets' Jose Iglesias: Retreating to bench Wednesday

Iglesias is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.

Iglesias had started at second base in five of the past six games while the Mets faced a lefty-heavy schedule, but he'll retreat to the bench Wednesday even though Miami is bringing southpaw Braxton Garrett to the hill. Jeff McNeil will get the nod at second base and remains the Mets' top option at the keystone, but Iglesias should continue to play ahead of McNeil against most lefties.

  • Cavan Biggio RF | HOU

Dodgers' Cavan Biggio: Making Dodgers debut at third base

Biggio is starting at third base and batting ninth Wednesday against the Rangers.

The 29-year-old was officially acquired from Toronto earlier Wednesday and will immediately step into the starting nine for Los Angeles. Biggio struggled in 130 plate appearances for the Blue Jays this season with a .200/.323/.291 slash line and 32.3 percent strikeout rate, but he could see semi-regular playing time at the hot corner while Max Muncy (oblique) is sidelined. Enrique Hernandez has been operating as the Dodgers' primary third baseman but is on the bench Wednesday.

  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Back in action Wednesday

Hoerner (hand) will start at second base and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Rays.

Though Hoerner was diagnosed with a small fracture in his right hand over the weekend, he avoided a stint on the injured list and will make his return to the lineup after missing only four starts. Before his recent absence, Hoerner had gone 0-for-8 over his last three starts, and it may take a bit for him to regain full strength in his hand and recapture the exit velocities he had provided prior to suffering the injury. Fantasy managers in leagues with daily lineup moves may be best served leaving Hoerner on the bench until he resumes producing at a level that warrants keeping him active.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Another steal Tuesday

Marte went 0-for-2 with three walks and a stolen base in Tuesday's 9-4 win over the Angels.

Marte drew multiple walks for the first time this season and has now swiped a bag in back-to-back games, bringing him up to three steals on the year. He continues to have a sharp eye at the plate so far in June, as he's slashing .375/.512/.688 with three homers, six RBI, eight runs and an 8:7 BB:K in 41 plate appearances.
