Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Blasts homer in loss
Hernandez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Thursday's 14-5 loss to the Rockies.
Hernandez had gone 15 games without a homer entering Thursday. The utility man gave the Dodgers a short-lived 3-1 lead with his second-inning blast. He's hitting .283 (17-for-60) in September and .269 since he joined the Dodgers in a trade from the Red Sox. Between the two teams this year, he's at a .239/.292/.354 slash line with 10 homers, 58 RBI, 56 runs scored and four stolen bases over 138 contests.

Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH
Mets' Jeff McNeil: Has partial UCL tear
Manager Buck Showalter announced Thursday that McNeil (elbow) has been diagnosed with a partial UCL tear, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
McNeil was placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday afternoon with what was initially called a left elbow sprain. He is expected to avoid surgery and will try platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatment with the goal of being 100 percent recovered by the beginning of spring training next February. The 31-year-old signed a four-year, $50 million contract extension with the Mets before the start of the 2023 campaign and went on to slash .270/.333/.378 with 10 homers and 10 steals in 156 games.

Luis Arraez 2B | SF
Marlins' Luis Arraez: Remains sidelined Thursday
Arraez (ankle) remains out of the lineup Thursday versus the Mets.
Arraez has now started only two of the Marlins' last seven games, at a crucial time as they look to claim the third NL wild-card spot. He sprained his left ankle during an infield drill last Tuesday and then aggravated the injury Saturday when he slipped on the dugout steps in Miami. Xavier Edwards is covering second base and batting ninth in Thursday's series finale against New York.

Mets' Jeff McNeil: Day off Thursday
McNeil is out of the lineup Thursday against the Marlins.
This looks to be a planned day of rest for McNeil as the Mets play out the string on a highly disappointing 2023 campaign. Tim Locastro is playing left field Thursday and DJ Stewart is in right. Ronny Mauricio will cover second base and bat second.

Phillies' Bryson Stott: Sitting amid slump
Stott is absent from the lineup Thursday against the Pirates.
Stott has batted just .159/.232/.238 over his last 70 plate appearances and will take a day of physical and mental rest as the Phillies wrap up their three-game series versus Pittsburgh. Jonathan India 2B | KC
Reds' Jonathan India: Doubles, scores twice in loss
India went 2-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to Cleveland.
India doubled and scored in the sixth inning, then doubled in a run and scored in the eighth, as the Reds' attempted comeback fell short. It was a stinging loss for Cincinnati, which missed a chance to gain ground on the Cubs for the final wild-card spot. India has batted .173 over 14 games since coming off the injured list, but he's shown recent life, going 5-for-14 with five walks, three doubles and four runs scored over the last four contests.

Brendan Rodgers 2B | BOS
Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Belts third homer
Rodgers went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the Dodgers on Wednesday.
Rodgers brought the Rockies to within 4-2 with his solo blast in the sixth inning, but that was the final run the team was able to muster. The long ball was his third of the campaign, all of which have come over his past seven games. Rodgers is slashing .310/.333/.690 over that stretch as he puts together a strong end to a mostly lost season -- he didn't play until late July due to a shoulder injury he suffered during spring training.
