Giants' Thairo Estrada: Battling wrist soreness

Giants manager Gabe Kapler said Friday that Estrada is dealing with left wrist soreness, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Estrada's wrist will keep him out of the starting lineup Friday, but Kapler added that Estrada could be able to pinch hit. He should be considered day-to-day for the time being.

  • Josh Rojas 3B | KC

Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas: Out against lefty

Rojas isn't starting Friday against the Red Sox.

Arizona has now run into left-handed starters in each of its last three games, so Rojas will begin on the bench for the third consecutive time. Emmanuel Rivera will take over at third base and bat second.

Padres' Ha-Seong Kim: Available off bench

Padres manager Bob Melvin said Kim (knee) is available off the bench Friday, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Jake Cronenworth will start Friday in Kim's place, but Melvin added that Kim is expected to return to the lineup Saturday. The 27-year-old infielder is slashing .237/.316/.382 through 172 plate appearances this season.

  • Luis Arraez 2B | SF

Marlins' Luis Arraez: Returns to lineup

Arraez (leg) is starting at second base Friday against the Angels, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Left leg cramps kept Arraez out of the Marlins' lineup Thursday, but the 26-year-old infielder will return to his usual spot at second base after just one missed start. Arraez is currently enjoying the best statistical season of his career, slashing .371/.422/.465 through 187 plate appearances.

  • Ha-seong Kim SS | ATL

Padres' Ha-Seong Kim: Out of lineup Friday

Kim (knee) isn't starting Friday against the Yankees.

Kim had to be helped off the field Thursday after he fouled a ball off his left knee. Although his X-rays came back negative, the Padres won't rush him back into action. He'll be replaced at second base by Jake Cronenworth, allowing Brandon Dixon to start at first base and bat seventh.

  • Alan Trejo SS | COL

Trejo went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a steal in Thursday's victory over Miami.

Trejo would later walk to lead off the seventh inning before swiping his third stolen base of the year. The 26-year-old infielder's gone just 2-for-19 over his last seven games while playing sparingly. Estrada went 0-for-5 with a stolen base in Thursday's 5-0 win over the Brewers.

Estrada got on base with a fielder's choice in the first inning and stole second, but that was the extent of his production. He entered Thursday on a nine-game hitting streak (12-for-39). The second baseman leads the Giants with 13 steals this season while slashing .301/.345/.466 with six home runs, 17 RBI and 30 runs scored in a near-everyday role through 47 contests.

  • Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH

Mets' Jeff McNeil: Scores three times in rout

McNeil has collected five multi-hit efforts over his last 10 games, though he had gone hitless in the last two contests. The second baseman also picked up his third steal of the season in the fifth inning before scoring on an error. He's batting a reliable .291, but he's added a modest .738 OPS with two home runs, 16 RBI and 22 runs scored through 51 games. He remains a reliable contact hitter with little pop.
