Nationals' Luis Garcia: Riding pine Saturday

Garcia isn't in the lineup Saturday against the Phillies.

  • Josh Rojas 3B | CHW

Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas: Riding pine Saturday

Rojas isn't starting Saturday against the Rockies.

Rojas is getting a breather after he hit .233 with a home run, a double, five runs, five RBI and two stolen bases over the last eight games. Emmanuel Rivera will start at the hot corner and bat sixth.

  • Thairo Estrada 2B | BAL

Giants' Thairo Estrada: Day off Saturday

Estrada isn't in the lineup Saturday against the Cubs, Evan Webeck of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

  • Reds' Jonathan India: Hits two-run homer

India went 2-for-5 with a triple, a two-run home run and two total runs scored in Friday's 8-2 victory over the Brewers.

India first reached home on a Kyle Farmer single in the first inning before reaching home again on a ninth-inning homer that also scored TJ Friedl. It was India's 10th home run of the season and his second this month. The second baseman extended his hit streak to three games, including two multi-hit performances, totaling six hits in 15 at-bats. India's is now slashing .269/.337/.424 on the season.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

    Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Plays Friday

Marte started at second base and went 0-for-4 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored in Friday's 13-10 loss to Colorado.

Arizona manager Torey Lovullo indicated Marte would get a day off during the three-game set in Denver, which means fantasy managers should expect a day off Saturday or Sunday. The day off is due to Marte's history of hamstring injuries occurring in Colorado, but the manager could also give him a break amid a slump. Marte is hitless over his last four contests.

  • Michael Chavis 2B | CIN

Pirates' Michael Chavis: Drives in two

Chavis went 1-for-4 with a triple, two RBI and a run scored Friday against the Cardinals.

Chavis has had his path cleared as Pittsburgh's primary first baseman with Bligh Madris back at Triple-A Indianapolis and Josh VanMeter off the 40-man roster. Chavis hasn't taken advantage of that opportunity, as he entered Friday's game hitting only .152 with a 43 percent strikeout rate across his last nine games. However, he delivered a two-RBI triple in the eighth inning Friday and now has extra-base hits in each of his last two starts. For the season, Chavis owns a .238/.268/.412 line across 377 plate appearances.

  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Homers, swipes bag

Hoerner went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer, a stolen base and two runs scored in Friday's 4-2 win over the Giants.

Hoerner launched a two-run shot off of Yunior Marte in the sixth inning for his ninth home run of the year. The 25-year-old infielder has gone 7-for-14 (.500) with four extra-base hits over his last four games after snapping a 2-for-24 (.083) skid. Hoerner improved his season slash line to .288/.335/.418 with 18 steals, 49 RBI and 34 extra-base hits through 123 games.

  • Gavin Lux SS | TB

Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Likely out until next week

Lux (back) will likely be out until sometime next week, according to Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times.

According to the report, Lux "probably won't play until at least the (Diamondbacks) series next week," so he likely will not play this weekend and could miss more time beyond that. Lux will not be placed on the injured list, according to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic, but the Dodgers seemingly won't be in any hurry to get him back on the field.

  • Padres' Brandon Drury: Targeting Tuesday return

Manager Bob Melvin said Drury (concussion) is feeling much better and the Padres are hoping he can return Tuesday, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Melvin said it is unlikely that Drury returns for the weekend series against the Dodgers, but the feeling is he could return ahead of the team's upcoming series in Seattle. Drury was slashing .278/.316/.667 over his last five games before suffering his concussion.

  • Gavin Lux SS | TB

Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Remains out of lineup

Lux (back) isn't starting Friday against the Padres, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
